Here's a gift-giving dilemma for you (1 Viewer)

My ex-SIL has 4 kids.  I have 1 kid (thus those 4 kids are her cousins, for those scoring at home).

I get along with the ex-SIL and want the cousins to have a good relationship.  I just found out that they are getting my daughter a couple presents worth about $50.

Her kids are of varying ages and genders and I barely know what they are into at this point.  I don't mind giving the gifts, but what do I do that requires that least effort?

a giftcard that you can only use at one establishment is more versitale?
The kids are gonna be pissed when visa charges them $3.95 to activate and they are a pai to use.  That's gonna be almost 20%.

Target has EVERYTHING. Plus they are everywhere and don't have the degenerates like a Wal establishment will.

An Amazon card works too imo.

A range of genders and ages would help immensely bro.
i can approximate.

girl 6

girl 10

boy 12

girl 15

$20 amazon gift card for each is the way I was leaning, though I don't know if they have that denomination in stores (or if you can select an exact amount).  $25 seems slightly high when multiplied by 4, but I guess it could be ok.

No way.  Those take like $4 right off the top when you activate.  Target or Toys R Us are more versatile.
The fee is charged to the purchaser.

I hate getting gift cards from random crap places. Visa/Mastercard/Amazon so much better.

Go $25 and be remembered as the cool uncle.  That's a small difference to get the kids as fans.  You may need to call on them to move something for you when you are old.

I activated a VISA not long ago and I got charged as the spender.  Maybe they charge both sides now?  MAGA.

Thought it was just the purchaser. I've received them many times and never notice an activation fee when using. Never purchased. Google says it is charge at purchase.

The person purchasing them pays the fee

That's interesting.  How challenging is it without holding on?   I have 7 and 10 year old girls.
Without holding on, I don't think I could do it but kids are usually better balanced than I am - also they don't usually do it drunk.

But you can always use the cheat line.

Ex-SIL because she divorced your brother, or because you divorced her sister?  If you divorced her sister, let your ex wife worry about what to get her sister's kids.

This.

And just give cash. $20 each.  Shows you care without having to go shopping.  Plus, waaaaaay better than a giftcard.
