Hernandez convicted of first-degree murder; found deceased in his cell.

I kinda have a feeling that Hernandez is dumb, but not quite as dumb as we all think right now. The body was found pretty much exactly two hours after the murder, right? It's possible, it still being early in the morning, that he was planning on recovering and disposing of the body, but never got a chance to, and then panicked and did all the stupid things he did, like breaking the phone and the surveillance system. He may have had a plan, but it didn't go the way he thought and he freaked.
I heard somewhere that the body was discovered at 5:30 PM, not AM.

Crowd outside courtroom on ESPN - chanting "In-no-cent!" - one girl exclaiming, "Oh my God that was amazing" as Hernandez van passes
Anyone know if Rhythmdoctor was among the folks in the crowd?

I hope the NFL takes a tougher stance going forward when players start showing signs of being a thug. I'd love to see a gun charge net someone a year long suspension.

What about the incredible amount of stupid things he did leading up to the shooting?
I said he was still dumb.

It was 14 hours later. 5:30pm.
Oh. Theory disintegrated. He's exactly as dumb as we all thought.

I have not read all the pages but doesn't anybody think it is strange - he was able to text "Just so you know" one minute before being shot? That Hernandez and anybody else in the car knowing he was going to be murdered would let him text anything to anybody? Just seems like a strange fact.
Detective Mark Furman doesn't see any thing strange about it.

"In addition, text messages from Lloyd to his sister indicated that he knew he was in peril, McCauley said.

He texted his sister reminding her of who he was with -- "I just want you to know," he wrote."

If I need to text this, I know about the double murder - I'm jumping out the damn car.

I wondered the same thing. And you can bet Fee will be all over that in his defense.

Conspiracy theory: Defense will now say someone else killed the victim and texted that AFTER he was killed, setting up Hernandez and purposely leaving the keys, phone, wallet, etc on the body and planting a casing under the car seat.

Again we don't really know all the details. What if they had a gun to his back saying get in the car... at that point you do it, cause you never know there's a chance they won't kill you. Or maybe he said he would let him live if he came with him (reminds me of the movie Mystic River)... or maybe he said he was going to kill his wife/sister/family/whatever as well as him if he didn't co operate, or maybe they said they were going to beat him up and he went 'willingly' rather then being shot on the spot or risking being killed... which he probably knew AH wasn't afraid to do. Unfortunately we may never know why the guy willingly got into that car. He was probably in shock too.

maybe....and let me know if I'm letting my imagination run a little too far on this.....he texted his buddy of the last year, who was basically his bro in law, and possibly party to previous murder(s), and invited him to hang out and blaze back at the crib.

The purpose of the Goodell hearing? To determine whether Hernandez should be suspended or face other action prior to his case being settled

Simply: If a team signs Hernandez they'd face the possibility of his contract not being approved & Hernandez suspended, per source

Nobody claimed Hernandez? I bet he's a first-round pick when the prisoners pick teams.

This is what I envision. At first, he probably thought they were going to party. It was a long car ride, so there was plenty of time for Lloyd to comprehend what was going on. My guess is Hernandez gave him a monologue about trust and respect during the ride. Once he realized he was in trouble, from what it sounds like, right after they were driving past Hernandez's house, instead of to it, he panicked and sent the text.

Yes its beginning to sound like Lloyd was going to leak something or told someone something about that double murder. That would explain AH on camera saying "You can't trust anyone anymore"

You know, the double murder motive theory would put this text in a new light.

If Lloyd knew Hernandez was involved in that, and knew he was upset at him for something that might relate to revealing that involvement... then it would really make sense for him to make sure someone knew who he was with.

Yep, and why he was pacing around with a gun say 'you can't trust anyone anymore". It all adds up. Now lets hope the prosecution can prove it beyond reasonable doubt.

NFL: No team can sign Aaron Hernandez without Goodell's approval

By John Breech | CBSSports.com

June 27, 2013 5:28 pm ET

Former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez officially cleared waivers on Thursday, which means technically, even though he's in jail, he's free to sign with any team he wants.

As you can imagine, the NFL wouldn't be too thrilled if a team signed Hernandez, who was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder. The league released a statement on Thursday clarifying Hernandez's status:

NFL clubs were advised [Thursday] that if Aaron Hernandez enters into a player contract prior to the resolution of the charges pending against him, the contract will not be approved or take effect until Commissioner Roger Goodell holds a hearing. The purpose of the hearing would be to determine whether Hernandez should be suspended or face other action prior to the charges being resolved.

Basically, Roger Goodell would hold a hearing and eventually have to OK any contract that Hernandez might sign before his criminal case is resolved. Goodell would also have the option to veto the contract or suspend Hernandez for whatever period of time he deems fit.

This is obviously just a precautionary measure being taken by the NFL because there's a 0.0 percent chance that any team would sign Hernandez before the resolution of his case.

Hernandez is facing a total of six charges -- including one charge of murder -- in the death of Odin Lloyd.

Well that certainly hurts his fantasy value, doesn't it?

After learning of this I bet Goodell ordered Kraft to cut him so quickly and pretty much ordered the rest of the league to not claim him. One of the few times I agree w/ his actions but just wish that the league took care of it themselves with him getting involved.

This is going to be a tidal wave of crap that gets brought to light about this THUG. It's seems pretty clear at this point that some homies have turned on him.

Step 1-- Wild speculation that Goodell got involved and strong-armed the entire NFL.

Step 2-- Lament Goodell's involvement

Wtf?

you're agreeing with your imagination?

@AdamSchefter: Boston PD has located red SUV w RI plates it was looking for in July 2012 homicide. Hernandez rented it
I thought it was silver or grey?
or red
not that all the details are always correct when their released to the public, but if this is true and hes already been involved in multiple murders in the past it would make total sense why he was so sloppy this time. Like with most crimes you usually get away with it a couple of times before you get caught, and after you do get away with it you get a little sloppy.

:goodposting:

The courts will decide guilt or innocence and all that, but by all indications, this is a very bad guy who, if he deserves to live at all, is best spending the rest of his life in a cage.

obivious he got involved

Aaron Hernandez cleared waivers, and he is now a free agent.
Not surprisingly. Hernandez is now "free" to sign with any team, though he isn't a "free" man after his request to be released from jail on bail was denied Thursday. According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, teams were told if Hernandez enters into a contract prior to resolution of charges, it will not be approved until commissioner Roger Goodell holds a hearing to determine if the tight end should be suspended. Hernandez may never sign another NFL contract.

You really think if he didn't say that, there would be a team out there willing to sign him? Please.

Unlikely as it may be, I don't think anyone has mentioned the possibility of brain damage/concussion related issues. Chris Henry always seemed like a volatile pyscho, but after he died they found evidence of CET. From what I've read about guys like Chris Benoit, Titus Young, and Junior Seau, concussions/brain damage might have played a role in their unhinged behavior as well. Hernandez strikes me as more of a garden variety lowlife sociopath, but maybe he's suffering some kind of dementia or scattered thinking. It's something that his legal team might want to look into. This story is bad publicity for the NFL, but it will be REALLY bad if it turns out that football injuries might have played a role in turning him into a monster.

I think the only thing his legal team is thinking about right now is how they can pass defending AH entirely on the interns.

No way. This is almost a slam-dunk conviction, and there's still tons of money in it for them. I'm sure they aren't wishing it was someone else at all.
