Hernandez convicted of first-degree murder; found deceased in his cell. (1 Viewer)

Apologies if this has already been posted, but I just saw it on Twitter:

http://abcnews.go.com/US/aaron-hernandez-destroyed-home-security-system-phone-sources/story?id=19445131#.UcND9bvLibV

According to the link he destroyed his home security video as well as his phone

ETA: Also, a team of cleaners came to his mansion on Monday and scrubbed it down.
Reporting that Hernandez handed his phone to police, the phone was in pieces. I guess this would be the "uncooperative part"
:lmao:
Why so skeptical? Those Galaxy 4's are pretty fragile.

Mr. Wolf and the boys?

I put the odds at about 0.1% that he's smart enough to pull this off if he really was part of a previously unplanned murder. They'll find something.

Aaron Hernandez - TE - Patriots
ABC News reports that Aaron Hernandez destroyed his home security system and cell phone.
Police are back at Hernandez's home Thursday with a warrant based on evidence that he destroyed the home security system, which included video surveillance, intentionally. Hernandez also handed over his cell phone to investigators, and it was "in pieces." Additionally, authorities want to know why a house-cleaning team was hired to "scrub" the 23-year-old's mansion on Monday. One police official says Hernandez isn't a suspect, but he "has not been ruled out" and is "definitely not in the clear." The tight end sure isn't painting a pretty picture by destroying what could be evidence.

It all makes sense now. Dude broke his phone. He had it coming.

I am not skeptical, I find it humous to think about the police asking him for his phone, and Hernandez handing over the pieces.

Say what you will, he does not strike me as an idiot in this situation. Better to go down for obstruction of evidence, than murder.

it would of been even funnier if he crushed it w/ his hands moments before he handed it to them

Why would they clean the house Monday? When was the guy shot?
Destroying the phone and surveillance system looks bad, but having maids clean your house Monday makes sense. He has buddies in town for the weekend (which would also explain the multiple car rentals), so he has the maids come in on Monday.

An intelligent person would "lose" the phone. Destroying evidence is a crime. Also, they may be able to recover data from the pieces

Better than murder, but he can now be charged with obstruction of justice and accessory to murder.

This is turning ugly.

If they had gone through his phone, and found evidence of a different crime, unrelated, like say he was talking about a drug deal that he had gone through with, etc, could they have held that against him?

And I've seen enough CSI shows to know that even when people physically destroy the stuff, they still pull all the information from the disks/hidden hard drives etc.

This could be the most bizarre crime ever becauase there is absolutely ZERO to gain from killing this guy and so much to lose.
To me that is the most odd piece of a very odd puzzle: what is the motive?
It could be anything. People kill each other all the time during heated moments when a gun is around. Being young, and just coming from a nightclub, there are so many possible reasons.
Now its just a matter of finding out the "why" and just how deeply Mr. Hernandez is involved. Up to his neck so far. At least he wont have to worry about gettting any substandard jailhouse tattoos as he is already set with his arms.

is it illegal to destroy your own security equipment???
Yes.

Obstruction charges can also be laid if a person alters or destroys physical evidence, even if he was under no compulsion at any time to produce such evidence. Often, no actual investigation or substantiated suspicion of a specific incident need exist to support a charge of obstruction of justice.
Yeah...this guy is going to do some time.
Or one of his buddies will come forward and say he destroyed the stuff, etc. And then when his buddy gets outta jail, he has a house waiting for him.

"He made a mess of my house and destroyed my security system, see. Then he offered to fix it and pay for my night out. Everything was great but on the way back home he decided to break my phone. He felt so bad about all of this that he shot himself. I knew he was a nature lover so I helped put his body in a field. It was a nice night so I decided to park the car and walk home after that. Oh, and the cleaning ladies were coming early in the morning so I didn't have time to deal with the police all night."

hard to be charged on it when you destory it before it becomes evidence; pretty sure a high priced lawyer can beat those types of charges but it does cause a great deal of suspicion.

Yep - that was it. lol - Good Lord, a Pats player could walk up, punch an 80 year old nun in the face unprovoked, have the entire thing video taped, and there would be NE fans in here defending him, saying the old lady had it coming. You guys are funny.

Everyone in here is a lawyer, judge and jury. lol

This is about to turn nasty after the recent news.
He's guilty as hell but how much time (if any) he actually serves remains to be seen. If OJ can get off then I won't be shocked if Hernandez does.

Ehhh..if these were actually professional maids, I'm sure he's fine with them witnessing all the beer bottles and plastic bags, but probably not the blood-streaked walls and corpse.

I would imagine all info on cell phone would still reside on the servers of his provider...so all texts, emails, etc. should still be available. If they don't have them the NSA may....

Besides your blatant ignorance, tell me what part of these comments don't make sense? Must suck to be angry all the time.

I am just trying to picture who the Aaron Hernandez apologist will be similiar to the idiots who thought OJ was innocent. Bunch of bro dogs in Big Papi jerseys like the ones in that HOPPER commerical that is so annoying

"That gives us exactly... forty minutes to get the #### out of Dodge. Which, if you do what I say when I say it, should be plenty. Now, you've got a corpse in a car, minus a head, in a garage. Take me to it."

ETA: and my personal favorite... "Well, let's not start sucking each other's ##### quite yet."

I believe he was killed late Sunday night into the early morning hours of Monday. So, having cleaning crews come Monday Daytime looks pretty suspect to me.
And it should be easy enough to determine when he scheduled the cleaning crew. If it was scheduled Monday morning = suspicious. If he had it set up days or weeks before = just coincidence.

At least Hernandez noticed the sign in the front of his house.

Still all circumstantial. They cant CONVICT on circumstantial evidence. They can sure arrest though. Although it sure gives the police incentive to dig deeper and deeper

based on destroying phone, video systems, I don't think you have to take a big leap to think it was a special request which is why the police are likely looking to question him on it. If he had a standing monday morning cleanup they wouldn't want to ask him about it.

Especially if they weren't scheduled to come clean and he ordered a rush cleaning job.

I'm no millionaire with a mansion, but I don't see anything shady about having maids come to your house on Monday's. Of all the days of the week, Monday's makes the most sense. But, it will be easy enough for detectives to find out.

Of murder, no, but there's enough evidence to prove obstruction and accessory.

The millionaires with mansions that I know have their house cleaned on Fridays so that it's clean when people come over on the weekends. But they aren't gangbangers.

I don't think he's fishing with that, he's just uninformed.

but you don't have a standing monday morning trashing of your video surveilance system and you don't just decide to crush your phone for giggles. there's no logical way to explain the events to a judge, much less Roger Goodell. That part of his story is going to catch up to him sooner or later.
