Josh Brown is actually the toughest kicker to come around since Darren Bennet. He's got an inch and 25 pounds on Hester. He's an all around state level competitor in a variety of sports and individual competitions. He's fast and strong, not just for a kicker. He's had a couple of good hits and tackels in his career. He got a good angle on Hester and wrapped him up pretty good. A very un-kicker like tackle. He doesn't get to make a good stick very often so you can forgive him for getting excited over tackling the best KR in the last few years. From WikiThis has got to be atrip. Kickers will randomly make an unexpected play on the returner, Hester is probably a little stronger than an 11-year old.
Afterwards Holmgren said he'd prefer Brown let others do the tackling. So no slouch in the athletic department, he's not like a Grammatica ducking his head and hoping to trip someone, Brown will get after returners.Brown then became a running back, safety, punter, placekicker, kickoff returner, and punt returner. He made a 61-yard field goal in the state playoffs in 1996. He also ran for 1,891 yards and scored 51 touchdowns that season and finished his Foyil career with 9,136 all-purpose yards and 122 scores.
Brown also jumped 6 feet, 8 inches to win the Oklahoma state title in the high jump in 1997 and '98. He qualified for the state finals in the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes.
Dang, I didn't know all that about him...I was commenting more on the "Hester has the strength of an 11-year old comment" moreso than saying Brown got lucky.Josh Brown is actually the toughest kicker to come around since Darren Bennet. sheesh what a partypooper. i prefer to think he was geniunely excited that he tackled devin hester. that wasn't just some random getting in the way of the guy kicker and luckily tripping him up kind of tackle. brown wrapped him up and got him inside the 30.Link to the play.
Nobody got owned. Josh Brown tackled him. It wasn't even a hard tackle. Just some idiot kicker show boating after making a routine tackle. Nothing to see here folks.
Oh please.....take a look at John Hall and Tom Tupa of the Redskins a couple of years ago. I loved watching the punter and kicker knock the bejeebus out of return men.Josh Brown is actually the toughest kicker to come around since Darren Bennet. He's got an inch and 25 pounds on Hester. Brown picked the ultimate timing in attacking Hester, and lucked out in stopping him just as he was recovering from shaking another would-be tackler. This is moronism or fishing.Just saw Hester get tackled by Josh Brown (yes the kicker) on NFL Network's replay of the CHI vs SEA game. After the tackle Brown looked like he just won the lottery. Hester must have the strength of an 11 year old girl.
Good call. I'm sure the other Aussies on here can testify to how many times we used to be shown the footage of him jacking up some kick returner way back when.He was a bit of a hard ******* even without the pads in Aussie Rules too when I used to watch him at the MCG in the late 80's/early 90's.Josh Brown is actually the toughest kicker to come around since Darren Bennett.
