inbreeder back from the dead! ;) In my rookie drafts, I targeted DeMeco Ryans (I wasn't in position to get at Ernie Sims, but I would've), then Donte Whitner (although I would've settled for Bernard Pollard or Michael Huff). In the later rounds, I had targeted Danieal Manning, Abdul Hodge, Omar Gaither, Freddie Keiaho, Tamba Hali, and Darryl Tapp. Today, I'd probably be look hard at Tim Dobbins and Roman Harper as mid-late round future stashes. And I'd have Manning in the group of four DBs I'd be happy to grab. As an aside, if you're in corner leagues -- Jimmy Williams would be a target with Antonio Cromartie much later. DT leagues -- Claude Wroten late.Must gets? Lucky strike extras in parentheses if you consider the first name a "stud"DeMeco Ryans (Abdul Hodge)Donte Whitner (Bernard Pollard)

Awesome stuff - but what about non-rookies?

I am continually blown away by people being suprised at Demeco Ryans. He is exhibt A on why the NFL darfting process and its emphasis on combine numbers are screwed up.

Demeco was the defensive player of the year in the SEC. He was the leading tackler on the best defense in college football. He is incredibly intelligent and graduated with honors in three years. He is a great citizen and won the Lott award for community service and leadership. Spend two minutes and watch his film (youtube and elsewhere) against UF, Texas Tech, and Tenn. Any SEC fan will tell you he was the best defender, if not the best player, in the nation's toughest conference (OK, one of the toughest).

Don't even get me started on Addai versus Norwood...

Talk to me about Norwood.........can he be a feature back? 20-25 carries a game?

Meh...that's a little too broad. I'm higher on Kirk Morrison, Terrell Suggs, Tony Hargrove, and a couple of corners (Clements, Rolle, Winfield) than most but I'm a get-the-consistent-studs guy in non-dynasty leagues.

Absolutely. He was durable throughout his carrer at MSU and put up great numbers behind an atrocious line for a horrible football team. He nearly had 200 carries in each of the past two seasons and averaged over 5 yards a carry for a team that could not throw the ball and faced elite talent and defenses every week.

Addai played against the same competition, showed less durability, and had less success. Granted, LSU has great talent, but Addai wasn't even the starter until Broussard blew out his knee.

Check out Norwood's film against UF in '04. Dude is a bad ###.
