Highland Maryland... thinking of moving there...anybody know anything? (1 Viewer)

I don't know Highland specifically, but it's on the outskirts of Columbia in Howard County which is a nice area. Are you commuting north or south?

We're commuting South. Current address is Silver Spring but more colesville/cloverly/burtonsville so we think we know what we're getting into.

She works a couple blocks north of the White House. We're currently 12 mi. from her work. Takes her just over an hour in the morning and a little more in the afternoon. This should add about 25 minutes to her commute.

I work all over but mostly South. So about the same but I leave a lot earlier and get off earlier.

The idea is we're currently paying $30k/yr for private school. Not because we believe in invisible men the sky but because the public schools are awful.

Highlands schools are 9, 10,10 for elm, middle and HS respectively.

We currently live on a busy street and want desperately to be in a neighborhood,   Preferably at the end of a cul-Del-sac(so?wtf?).

We have a nice house with a modest mortgage. We move there we can stop paying for private and have a nicer house with great schools, in a neighborhood.

Thats the thought process anyway.
