Hilliard worth a look? (1 Viewer)

Hilliard is putting up decent numbers lately...

wk 4: 8 ca 58yd 0 td

wk 5: 7 ca 114yd 0td

in the last 2 weeks he has been targetted more than Galloway (17 to 10) and has more catches also (15 to 5).

Beyond the one big game, Joey hasn't done much.

Are we seeing a favorite receiving emerging for Garcia in Ike Hilliard? I'm seriously considering dropping Galloway for Hilliard. I'm a little concerned over the lack of tds, but that is hard to predict....

Anyone else taken notice of this?

I've noticed it. I'm hammered this week by byes and injuries at WR so Hilliard is definitely on my radar. In a PPR league I think he has to be given what he's done the past two weeks. At worst he should be a decent WR3. At best, maybe a lower end WR2. He's getting a lot of targets and he's catching most of them. I don't know how long it lasts but if you need him you might as well strike while the iron is hot.

Picked him up this week. They'll still use Galloway to stretch the field but it looks like Garcia and Hilliard have found a comfort zone. In PPR he might be a borderline WR3.

I noticed this too. I'm considering picking him up as well.

For ref I'm also considering Northcutt, Rice, Burleson and Booker in this group. I don't need anyone long-term, only bye week, so my thinking may be different than others.

Hilliard's skill set seems to play more to Garcia's dink and dunk style than Galloway's big play ability. I think Ike may have some value going forward, as the Bucs don't seem to spread the ball around as much as many other teams.

I got him as a throw in in part of a trade to make it even and I didnt really want him.

But being besieged by WR injuries - he has become a nice option to consider each week. Garcia certainly helps him.

Keep in mind that Tennessee D is very tough -- #1 against the pass according to one measure -- so you may want to look elsewhere for a week 6 fillin.
Good point, although I figure they won't run the ball well, and Garcia will probably be forced to chuck the ball 40+ times. Hopefully, Ike can grab a handful of those, and maybe even get a gratuitous TD.

He's my #1 target in my league's free agent bidding this week...although I'm still not bidding much. If I get him, I may start him over Bernard Berrian (PPR league). Not sure yet.

I own both Galloway and Hilliard and am starting Hilliard until Galloway shows that he can do anything besides hit one long one every four games. Hilliard is worth more in PPR leagues and has outperformed Galloway the last two weeks and I agree with an earlier post that it seems like he and Garcia have better chemistry (possibly due to Garcia not being able to throw the long ball as well).

Friday update from RotoWorld. I disagree with their assessment. I think Hilliard is a nice WR3 option in PPR leagues and worth a look in larger standard scoring leagues too given his recent production:

Ike Hilliard (shoulder) returned to an unrestricted practice Friday.

The Bucs are calling him questionable to face the Titans, but odds are Hilliard will start once again. He still wouldn't be a great fantasy play.
