I'm wondering. Back in the days when the league had fewer teams, even far fewer going back into the 20's,30's, 40's, and 50's, did they admit as many folks into the HOF. If so a statistically larger percentage of players in the league were admitted than are now.

The hall didn't exist until the early 60's. The initial guys that got in were legends. The first class was huge and after that they admitted as many guys as they do now.
