Who is the better setup man in Oakland - Embree or Foulke?

I thought it was Embree, but Foulke already has 2 holds in 2 games.

You can drive yourself nuts chasing holds. Geren will use both as setup guys for Street. I'd probably go with Embree since he's a lefty and might vulture a save or two because of it. Foulke is also a major injury risk.

Hey Eephus... when you say you can drive yourself nuts chasing holds... I'm new at fantasy BB... would it be kind of equal to playing IDP football? That is, since you can't predict how many chances a guy gets and how the official scorer's going to score it, you can't predict a "holds stud"... you just have to look for a guy who might get opportunities, not get shut out, and if he gets more than a few that's a bonus?

I haven't played in a Holds league for a few years but they're such an arbitrary stat that they're hard to chase. The league leaders are usually somewhere around 30 but there are always a bunch of guys in the 20-25 range. If a manager has a defined 8th inning guy with decent K rates, they're probably as good a Holds pick as anyone. I generally prefer LHP for their one out save possibilities and because the AL and NL record holders were both lefties.

Found this from Sports Fanatics, but it hasn't been updated since February. Are any of these guys dead or something?

Any updates here?

I know it looks like Betancourt will take over as closer with Borowski on the DL. Does Borowski come back as closer, set up man, ???? WHo takes over the 8th?

Early indications are that Joe Bo will go back to the closer role upon return and Betancourt will go back to setting up. For now Rafey Perez and Jensen Lewis will be pitching the 7th and 8th, keep an eye on Kobayashi too but not Jorge Julio. I still find it funny some were talking about him closing yesterday. They got to see exactly what he's good for in the 7th last night.0 IP, 2 BBThe Walk Machine at his finest.
