Our house has built in speakers in the living room. Not looking for great sound, just to be able to use them so I bought this little amp along with an optical audio to RCA converter and have run my TV off of it flawlessly for the last couple years.

Now I am adding an Echo Dot into the mix. It has a 3.5mm or BT audio out. So I plug it into the open 3.5mm input on the amp. The problem is it seems like the 3.5 mm takes precedence and as long as it is plugged in the TV inputs are dead and only the Echo outputs to the speakers. I'm looking for the opposite. I'd like the TV to take precedence and only have the Dot take over when the TV isn't on or if that can't be achieved let both inputs output to the speakers at the same time. I suppose if I go that route I could just buy another little amp and jumper it to the speakers.
But any suggestions on one that will give priority to the RCA or even optical audio inputs (I could get rid of the converter if the amp has an optical audio input)? I prefer not to switch between them with a remote if I can avoid it. Thanks!
