In the process of getting a concrete slab poured for a half court (50x30). Any advice for those who have installed an outdoor court on their property. I plan on getting it painted/lines. Any prep work that needs to be done after the slab is poured before it's painted with lines? Thanks.

My buddy has a court on his property. His is a full court—but his has lines painted for several sports on it (volleyball, tennis). He has holes drilled with removable caps to where he can put tennis court net posts or a volleyball net up. Because you are only pouring a half court, you might want to consider also getting pickle ball or lines for other potential games painted when you do the painting of the basketball lines. You also might want to have a bench or two installed somewhere around the court so that there is a place for people to sit, place equipment, put bottles of water/Gatorade..etc. You certainly don’t want to have the benches positioned so close to the court that they get in the way from people chasing after the ball—but you also don’t want them so far away that they are useless either. I’d think that somewhere like 8-10 feet away from the court would be a decent amount.

Full court, even three quarter.
