I've noticed that "hot takes" are clearly political. If you disagree with a thing in a sport, that makes you a hot taker. 

So, I'd ask this. What about Colin Kaepernick in his pig cop socks sitting the bench and enjoying it. What take is that? Hot? Stupid? Lovin' it? What?

Doesn't seem like a hot take to me...people have been calling cops pigs for decades now.  That being said, CK is an idiot and on the way out of the league and this will only speed it up.

True, but any take against counter-wisdom is considered "hot" by those in charge -- ridiculed, and held out for contempt. 90% is not in the delivery, but in the content. Often, these are professional writers and scribblers, Plorfu. 

When I think of hot takes, I think of the "Three True Outcomes" in baseball, and how after thoroughly discredited, it was never held in contempt by the usual suspects that hot take all the time.  

If anything, that should have been a "hot take" all these years later.
