It definitely was because I paused it after watching a good amount and saw it counting down from 59, meaning it still had an hour left. Was last night longer than an hour? Was boring but seemed to go on forever.
Yeah, but they have that badass bee lapel thing!!So three petty criminals, who can't even speak with each other on their mission, manage to infiltrate a castle, lock the lord and his son in their rooms, and burn it down.
Is that what I watched?
I’m honestly still trying to figure out the door thing. Does the dad sleep in his son’s closet? Seemed like no windows or hallways to be found and certainly no guards. So three petty criminals, who can't even speak with each other on their mission, manage to infiltrate a castle, lock the lord and his son in their rooms, and burn it down.
Is that what I watched?
So the King and Queen have 3 children who are all blonde but the Princess and her lover have 3 children and not one is blonde?
And cowbell...this dog needs more cowbell!!!You know what this show needs. More birthing scenes. If we can't even get some gratuitous sex scenes, I'm not sure what we're even doing here anymore.

You guys wanted some gratuitous sex...WALA!So the King and Queen have 3 children who are all blonde but the Princess and her lover have 3 children and not one is blonde?
Don't complain. It's the only way I can tell them apart.
Except for the window beater. I don't think I will ever un-see that.
This part isn't really a stretch since the other son would have told them how to do so IMO.So three petty criminals, who can't even speak with each other on their mission, manage to infiltrate a castle, lock the lord and his son in their rooms, and burn it down.

Agreed. I just didn’t couldn’t figure out the door situation. If the son is in the hall why is he just burning alive and not going elsewhere. He went to his dad’s room so unless they literally are in a back corner with no windows, just an odd setup. This part isn't really a stretch since the other son would have told them how to do so IMO.So three petty criminals, who can't even speak with each other on their mission, manage to infiltrate a castle, lock the lord and his son in their rooms, and burn it down.

The Terror was better than this (so far) IMO, though I get where you're coming from. Just felt like The Terror had a fairly clear plotline and I liked some of the characters (and hated 1 other), so I was way more emotionally invested. HOD could turn it around but hopefully they'll hurry.I keep trying to enjoy this show and it’s got some moments but damn is it slow.
Reminds of that AMC show The Terror: great actors, intriguing plot line, great sets- but when you actually watch most episodes, nothing happens.
Don't know what the shows endgame is here, but if it's to cover 200 years no reason to invest much into any character in the first season.Does anyone really care who wins and who dies? It's like watching

It isn't going that far. Just a few years from this point on I think.Don't know what the shows endgame is here, but if it's to cover 200 years no reason to invest much into any character in the first season.Does anyone really care who wins and who dies? It's like watching

This is all basically the prologue stillDoes anyone really care who wins and who dies? It's like watching

Well, yeah, but that's a pretty important plot point. It's obvious to everyone that the princess has been riding somebody else's dragon, if you get what I mean.So the King and Queen have 3 children who are all blonde but the Princess and her lover have 3 children and not one is blonde?
Didn't they basically use the same plot point in GOT 1st season when Ned Stark was investigating the Baratheons all had dark hair and yet King Robert's kids were all blond?Well, yeah, but that's a pretty important plot point. It's obvious to everyone that the princess has been riding somebody else's dragon, if you get what I mean.So the King and Queen have 3 children who are all blonde but the Princess and her lover have 3 children and not one is blonde?
Also, as another poster noted, I don't know how the hell we're supposed to keep any of these characters straight without visual aids.
This. I don't know what show others are watching but I'm entertained. There's alot of setup for sure but not in a bad way. It was never going to be GOT level especially because we are introduced to all new characters. I'm sure the Snow GOT sequel will probably be better received with a callback to old characters. I like the callback stuff here too, like seeing how Harenhall was destroyed. I'm sure there are a lot of things mentioned in GOT which are spoilers for this one but luckily my memory isn't that sharp.I have really enjoyed the series so far. I understand the need for time jumps and how the new actors were necessary. We are seeing a divided house now which will lead to drama when the king passes. Lars killing his own dad and brother was wild.
And they were led by a guy who is a dead ringer for Pete Buttigieg. So three petty criminals, who can't even speak with each other on their mission, manage to infiltrate a castle, lock the lord and his son in their rooms, and burn it down.
Is that what I watched?
I turned it on super late. Both of my daughters had friends over and I couldnt find the TV remote to adjust the volume. The entire house could hear the wailing. The one thing that I really thought they could have done better last night was to spend a bit more time on the birth scenes and maybe add a bit more audio to it. Then it would have been perfect.

That first five minutes was brutal. It's a fantasy show. We don't need realistic representations of childbirth in both time and experience.Ok....we get it. Women give birth. That's enough of that now
Not that unbelievable given that Larys sent them there. He probably gave them all the details on what passages to take and he probably bought some help from the inside too. It is his family's home after all.So three petty criminals, who can't even speak with each other on their mission, manage to infiltrate a castle, lock the lord and his son in their rooms, and burn it down.

I'm probably in the minority, but I really have no idea where this is going. Occasionally I'll hear some recognizable names from GoT, but for the most part it's a completely isolated story for me. I don't know if that makes the lack of substantial story development better or worse.is a lot of setup when it’s terribly obvious what we’ve been building up towards.
I’ll bet you have some idea that a battle between Alicent and friends and Rhaenyra and friends is coming. Once the king dies, it’ll hit high gear. That’s all I am saying. They are clearly building up to that eventuality. Killing Rhaenyra’s baby daddy isn’t something they can come back from.I'm probably in the minority, but I really have no idea where this is going. It's not a horrible show; it's just not compelling. I don't find myself rooting for or against anyone and am emotionless to anything that happens.
Can we get an episode without graphic child birth? TIA
I really liked Rogue One. Thought it was really well done even though we knew what would happen after the hand off. This is kinda feels like Rogue One only not as good. Spin off that lends to the larger plot of the story but no characters have a direct correlation to the folks we most know & love (GOT cast).
Best Star Wars movie released in my lifetime and I don't think it's particularly close.I really liked Rogue One. Wasn't that graphic IMO. If you've witnessed an actual birth this is like Sesame Street. Can we get an episode without graphic child birth? TIA
Agreed - I would encourage everyone to peruse that Wiki, I’ve found it much more enjoyable knowing the general direction. Not enough to actually read Fire & Blood though.I'm really enjoying this. Watched the latest episode last night and thought it was great - although we seem to get a few headscratching plot moments every episode, the story is really coming into form. Reading some comments here, I think maybe it's helped me to have read some of the story before so I kind of knew the main players and the general direction. I've never cared about knowing spoilers in advance of watching a movie or TV show and I think maybe that has helped with this one. My main resource has been reading about characters, places, events from time to time on the "A Wiki of Ice and Fire" website.
I think he's saying the blond Princess and dark haired knight made zero blond kids but the blond king and dark haired Queen made all blond kids.Well, yeah, but that's a pretty important plot point. Did it say anywhere that it was specifically 10 years or just looks roughly 10 years or so?I don't understand Aegons age. The time jump was 10 years. Wouldn't that make Aegon like 12?
There’s been a lot of that. I imagine it’s build lineage similar to how there are a hundred King Henrys and Louies. And did they really have to name the baby Joffrey?
They said it several times throughout the episode.Did it say anywhere that it was specifically 10 years or just looks roughly 10 years or so?I don't understand Aegons age. The time jump was 10 years. Wouldn't that make Aegon like 12?

The issue here would be having to sit through all of those episodes again.A lot is happening and it is probably a show that would benefit from rewatching
Seems he's a little **** no matter what age he existed in, eh?And did they really have to name the baby Joffrey?
Respectfully, can we please not discuss the wiki page going forward?

Daemon is the only one for me and just because he’s the only one on the show with any kind of charisma.I'm probably in the minority, but I really have no idea where this is going. Where it's going is the same place GOT season 1 went once Robert Baratheon died.
I do agree that I'm having a hard time rooting for anyone. When someone dies, I don't care.
Pretty sure most animals will eat meat given the opportunityHad no idea crabs were meat eaters.
