Houston at Denver (1 Viewer)

Seems like Texans strategy is to get the ball out as fast as possible. Good strategy if you want to have less than 100 yards of offense in 4 quarters.

They have to consider benching him, right? I mean, clearly he just isn't starting caliber at this point. Try again next year, maybe, but he needs to sit now.

Yes it seems like they could actually be a playoff team but that's probably not possible with him at QB

Still wondering what happened to the D vs Falcons and Chargers. At least we get a 2nd chance vs Chargers
I think the biggest weakness for the defense is the pass coverage of the linebackers.  The team has struggled when TE's and RB's run routes.  The linebackers just dont have the speed to cover them in man coverage.   By contrast the CB's (Talib, Harris JR and Roby) are all great in man coverage so the linebackers are forced to play man and teams with good pass catching RBs can exploit the soft spot in the defense.

It's a good thing then that the Texans kept forcing it to Hopkins in the first half. Smart move, O'Brien: Force it into the defense's strength. Ivy league idiot.

Yeap...which is why they played a hybrid defense last night.  CBs played man, while LBs and safeties played zone.  There were some instances where that wasn't the case (PI on Ward comes to mind), but I think that is a new twist we can expect to see more of.

Nice catch Rascal.  I didnt notice that hybrid defense... and I dont think Houston did either!  Wade Phillips has been an absolute genius the last couple of years, I would expect him to keep experimenting until he finds something that works.
