Houston vs Jacksonville game thread (1 Viewer)

Ben Tate (ribs, ankle) is active for Week 14 against the Jaguars.

Tate didn't get in a single full practice, but the Texans were just managing his reps on a short week. Tate got erased by the Jags in Week 12, gaining all of one yard on seven carries, but is a legit RB2 against one of the league's softest run defenses. Inactive for the Texans are QB T.J. Yates, OG Alex Kupper, OT Andrew Gardner, OG Cody White, LB Ricky Sapp, DE Tim Jamison and S Jawanza Starling.

Owen Daniels playing?
He's out at least another week.

Owen Daniels playing?
Not according to PFT

The Texans will be trying to avoid their 11th straight loss when they head to Jacksonville on Thursday night and they won’t be getting tight end Owen Daniels back in the lineup to help them do it.

This is the first week that Daniels is eligible to play after being placed on injured reserve/return because of a fractured leg. Daniels has resumed practicing, but it seems the abbreviated week of work before facing Jacksonville isn’t enough to get him into game shape after coach Gary Kubiak announced that Daniels wouldn’t play this week.

“O.D. did work on the field — not with the team but on his own — and had a really good day,” Kubiak said, via the Houston Chronicle. “Obviously, he’s not going to play this week. But he made a lot of progress, so we’ll see where we’re at heading into the weekend.”

so they don't need to declare him inactive?

Say what you will about the abilities or lack thereof of the QBs tonight, but at least weather will not be an issue.

Warm, beautiful December night. Low in the upper 50's.

This is the Texans coming out party. They show the world they're the worst team in the NFL tonight. Sitting Tate with confidence

this train wreck would probably be more entertaining in a snowstorm.

Also, that run up the middle by henne was a thing of beauty. If he winds up to throw that it gets stripped. Not sure if he realized that blindside pressure was there, but good looking play.

Swearenger a good tackler and a thumper?

Mayock must have missed the play where Rashad Jennings left tire tracks all over his face.

Not quite the start I was hoping for from that Texans D... Got close to Henne a few times but couldn't get him down.

I'm not sure we can consider the Jags the worst team in football anymore. Still a bad team, but improved compared to earlier this season

I don't think you can argue that they are the least talented team in the league, but they aren't playing like the worst team in the league right now.

Marcellus?
Nessler is awful. I guess that wasn't as bad as when he called Jamaal Charles "Bryce Brown" during the eagles/chiefs game.
In his defense though, he's drunk out of his mind right now.
Lucky *******.
Shouldn't that make him more enjoyable?
I don't know about making him more enjoyable, but it would help my enjoyment of the game.

I just dig MJD...poor guy stuck on that team for so many crappy years lately...ran him into the ground. Such a fun player to watch when he gets going too.
