Black Friday around the corner, I'm sure I'm not the only dude considering a bedroom TV upgrade, and trying to decide what's appropriate vs. what's obnoxious.

Thoughts?

I believe 42 inches is the sweet spot. Once you are at 48+, I think the word obnoxious creeps into the conversation.

However.......obnoxious to who? I don't want/need a 56" in my bedroom, but if I thought it might be nice, and I got a deal, heck yeah I'd put one in there.

Voted 50, but it is really 48. The master bedroom is HUGE and the TV sits on the opposite side of the room. It is not overpowering.

We used to have one years ago but it was a waste. The bed is too comfortable and we both fall asleep in minutes.

Great topic as I will be doing the same soon. When's the last time you got a TV home and said, man..wish I had gotten one a little smaller.

I want to throw a 55-60 incher on the wall.

We have a smaller one, about 30, but only for when my wife wants to watch a movie while I watch football on the bigger living room TV.

But yeah, I'm in the "America watches way too much TV" camp.

How big is your bedroom for those who have 40+ inches?

My bedroom is like 13 x 13 and I have a 27 incher in there. I tell the wife how lucky she is.

at least the small room makes other things look bigger.

We upgraded to a 42" last year from a 27. The room is 20x20

We're upgrading from a more than dated 27", but probably just getting a 19" flat screen. Being proactive as we're not letting our kids have a tv in their bedroom. We're asking for trouble if we get a big screen in ours, even though the room is more than big enough to fit one.

27" now, last house w/smaller bdrm 15" wall mount. I don't need the tv to be life sized--just viewable from all angles.

Same with living room at 32".

It depends on the size of the room. We have a huge master with 10' ceilings and went with a 55" tv with a viewing distance of 12 ft. doesn't look big at all and anything smaller would suck for watching movies.

Who the hell needs a TV in the bedroom? That place is only good for 3 things anyway, and TV aint one of em.
3?

Wife likes to watch movies and "cuddle". She also likes to put on a porn now and again.

Also good to have a getaway room with a TV

So man good reasons to have a TV in the bedroom. For any of the bad reasons, try some self control and just dont turn it on.

37 incher

You would think that someone on a 14 year NFL heater could afford a TV bigger than 37''
