How 'bout them Reds! (2 Viewers)

Leading off, top  of the 9th, down 2 run, clear as day on the tv broadcast:

Kemp (smiling and bs’ing with the catcher) “I just work here man”

3 pinch hitters in the ninth (all struck out but Kemp reached on dropped third strike at least)

Perilously close to checking out for the season already....not the start this team needed.

Time to bring Senzel up.  I don’t care where you play him.  This is disgusting.

2018 - Reds pitching is historically bad.

2019 Reds Offense: “Hold my beer”

At least they scored some runs today. I would release Kemp right now, make Lorenzen an everyday outfielder, and bat him lead off.

At least then we wouldn’t see a friggin infield shift against your nominal lead off hitter like they did at one point with Schebler today, and watch him make one feeble attempt to bunt his way on,

Good riddance to Kemp.

Is Schebler move likely to be long term or just temporary to bolster the bullpen?

I would’ve leaned towards temporary earlier today, before our closer threw another gopher ball....

Senzel may have just found his home batting leadoff.  RBI opportunities will be down, but 2 dingers already today.

Ahhhh....finally a fun team again!

Lots of great personalities.  Luis Castillo is a legit ace!

I hope to hell they don't have a horrible collapse.  They may not make the playoffs, but I'm looking forward to an entertaining and competitive summer.

Taking my son to his first game tomorrow against the Dodgers.  Sitting behind home plate.  He's gonna love it (been to a couple Dragons games already).

Hope to see some Puig fireworks.  Wanted Castillo, but Mahle vs Buehler has the potential for a high scoring game.

Are you in the diamond club tomorrow?

Scouts club.  Section 123.

I will be at the park Monday and Wednesday. Taking the kids to KI Tuesday and gonna miss my boy Verlander unless I sneak out the hotel and catch that one too lol

RIght after the top of the 9th, I had to take my wife to the airport.  It's not far from home, so I hit "pause" on the DVR, even though this was EXACTLY the type of game I'm used to seeing the Reds lose (get the lead, give it up late, offense ####s off for the rest of the game).

What a nice surprise to come back to, especially the 2-out hitting.

You guys got the Astros. Maybe I’m bad luck for them except in playoff games in Cleveland.

Bats are coming around and now the bullpen blows after being mostly fantastic for ~3 months.

Why can't we have nice things? :kicksrock:

WTF. I come back from a week in the wilderness and I don’t recognize any of the catchers and I feel the annual season-ending collapse is nigh.

Bauer, Castillo, Gray, Wood, DeSclafani and Roark is a pretty solid rotation.

ETA:  at least until one gets traded tomorrow

Roark won’t be here next year regardless so he probably goes today. Wood might be, but even if he’s not the other 4 you mentioned is a great anchor only needing to sign what amounts to a #5 starter.

The offense could have some holes, but that’s easier to fix over the winter than the rotation and the ballpark doesn’t hurt.

As expected.  I'm looking forward to watching Wood ROS (and I mean actually watching him, assuming Dish and the Fox RSNs decide to stop jerking around :hot: ) and either try to extend him or at least throw him a QO if he looks good.

Castillo, Gray, Wood, Bauer at the top of the 2020 rotation would be pretty sweet, and probably Disco and Mahle dueling for the #5 slot.

Scooter to the Giants for just cash, apparently.  Sucks that he got hurt; gotta think he'd have brought a good return if he was hitting like the last 2 years.

Unfortunately not,  He's not considered very good defensively. It's one of the reasons he stuck on the Reds for as long as he did.

What's going to happen if when Aquino hits the actual Toyota truck? Does the fan still win it? Will they have to pay for the dent/glass repair?

He swings angry :swoon:

Don’t know what is wrong with Iglesias, but I think I’ve seen about enough of him as the closer this year.
The problem seems to be primarily when he's not in a potential save situation.

I still think they should have kept him on the path of a starter.

Yeah, wasn’t the reasoning there he wouldn’t have the stamina or whatever? And here we are a few seasons later and  it is pretty much expected 5 to 6 innings is pretty much max for a starter, teams are experimenting with “openers”,  and we spent a couple years trying to figure out how to use him for 4 out saves.

I think he developed some shoulder problems early on as a starter and they decided to move him to the BP at that point.

Thought it was cool they gave out radios for Marty’s last game. Work sucked, so I only managed to listen to an inning or so.
