How did James Jones look? (1 Viewer)

Jones didn't have a very good game at all.

Favre was throwing it everywhere and he came away w/ 4.

Greg Jennings will be a big upgrade.

What an ignorant, ignorant post. Jones did absolutely everything expected of him today - made several key catches for 1st downs.

tough to say how he looked without seeing the game tape. he has great hands and catches absolutely everything.

1) does he get open?

2) how many plays are called with him in mind as the primary target?

the Packers really threw it all over the field today.. i'm assuming he was only targeted 4 times because he wasn't getting open. that could be a function of the defense, it could be he can't get open, it could be that he doesn't know enough of the offense to run enough varied plays/routes, it could be that Favre doesn't have faith in him (though i doubt it as he has great hands). :goodposting:

they sorely need Herron, Morency and Jennings back healthy. that is going to open their options up a lot more and should, imo, lead to more targets for Jones.

Favre was smacking jones on the face mask cause he though he was doing good... I just think its early in his rookie career and they arent going to ask too much. I would hope they but more on him then they did.

They won't get Heron back; he's on IR. I agree that the offense will be much improved when they get Morency and Jennings back.

 We have to remember he's a rookie. Jones has been playing really well but the Pack are easing him in.

My biggest concern regarding James Jones was his speed. He showed hands of glue in the preseason, but I didn't know if he could get deep. (Ran a 4.54 at the combine.)

He beat Corey Webster today for 46 yards down the sideline on a beautiful throw from Favre.

Favre missed him last week on a deep throw where he was even more open. Could have been 60+ yard TD.

The guys is legit, but doesn't know the offense nearly as well as Jennings did at this time last year. If Jennings gets healthy anytime soon he'll start and be productive, but Jones is coming. I don't know how much longer Driver will play, but the Packers have two very good young WRs in Jennings and Jones.

Jones was fine for a rookie WR.

However, if you plan on getting real Fantasy Football production from him this year, he isnt going to help your team very often.

In the future? I think he will be a big fan favorite.

Jones looked great in the first half. He gained excellent separation and looked good after the catch. The Pack seemed to move towards Driver in the second half and he didn't do much post halftime. I suspect that the score was a big factor as well (the Packers dominated the second half)
