Of course teammates aren't going to speak negatively about a teammate after the team won the Super Bowl. However, it says something that they decided to replace him the very next year. This is what those Ravens did in the playoffs:I'll take the players' word and the coaches' as well over yours. Just my preference.Dilfer did not fit perfect. Je just got lucky to be at the right place at the right time....Nope. Never said that. I'd take Cutler over Dilfer in most situations. But that was a different team in a somewhat different league. Dilfer was good for his team for that year. Fit in perfect. But since you want to make the Dilfer/Cutler comparison - If the Bears D plays stellar and the talent around Cutler is at least good (I think it is) then Cutler should lead them to a Super Bowl, right? So you're saying he's about as good a QB as trent dilfre? He could even have a shot at a Super Bowl ring someday if his D is stellar and they surround him with good/great talent.
A silly comparison, which I didn't initially make, but there it is.
What's that have to do with Cutler leading his team, anyway? Start another thread if you want to argue Dilfer's role on that Super Bowl team.
vs Denver: Defense allowed 3 points- means that they needed Dilfer to lead the offense to score at least two FGs or one TD. And the defense intercepted Denver and got the offense the ball at the Denver 39 for one possession.
@ Tennessee: Defense allowed 10 points, defense scored 7 points, special teams scored 7 points- means that they just needed their offense to not allow any defensive scores by the other team.
@ Oakland: Defense allowed 3 points- means that they needed Dilfer to lead the offense to score at least two FGs or one TD. And the defense recovered 1 forced fumbled and intercepted Oakland 4 times, starting their offense with 5 possessions: at the Oakland 6, at the Oakland 19, at the Oakland 20, at midfield, and at their own 17.
Super Bowl vs New York: Defense allowed 0 points, defense scored 7 points, special teams allowed 7 points, special teams scored 7 points- means that they just needed their offense to not allow any defensive scores by the other team.
Yep, pretty much.
