How do you feel about Cutler now? (current info on pg 46) (2 Viewers)

He's got a cannon and time in the pocket to throw this year. A pleasant surprise as a Bears homer. Wouldn't touch him for Fantasy purpose though.
Why not? He's having a very good fantasy season.
If I had to guess, it's the knack of bad Jay Cutler showing up at the worst possible time. At least, he's shown viability even in those bad games and racked up garbage/catchup points.
New coach. New offensive line. More weapons. People who can't let go of the past get burned sometimes. He's top 5-7 right now in most leagues. He's not going to start falling apart.

Sucks for him and for my fantasy team. Draftmasters team loses Bradford and Cutler on the same night. UGH! I'll keep everyone updated on my team.

What's Cutler's history with returning from injuries? I don't want to drop the guy because his schedule is like a wet dream come playoff time. My memory seems to recall Cutler toughing out injuries more often than not. Would really appreciate some insight from the Bears homers here. Anyone think there's a chance he could actually be back maybe a week earlier than the timetable suggests?

Hard to say, but I would bet against it. The expectation seems to be that he will miss "a month" and quite possibly longer. If he isn't having surgery it will just depend on how he heals. And if the Bears suddenly find themselves at 5-5 they may not be in a rush to reinsert Cutler. Personally I will have to drop him.

All reports say 4 weeks is just a pr thing. It will likely be longer, not a chance it's earlier. Tore groin. Was in terrible pain afterward. Couldn't walk. I've never seen him even acknowledge much pain. The guy is tough as nails but this is a pretty serious injury. I'm not optimistic. He missed almost half the season a couple years ago with a broken thumb. A couple the year before that with a concussion. The well documented 2nd half of NFL championship with torn mcl. He's no more prone to injury than the next guy. He will be back this season. Who knows when...

Still terrible.
Where you been the last few weeks GB?
For anyone reading this the day after, I posted that right after the pick-6.... well before he got hurt. I enjoy the shtick in this thread, but I would never clown a guy for getting hurt. Just wanted to make that clear. Anyway, I'm bummed out. He was crushing it for me in my local start-2-QB league.

BTW, I knew it was the groin when I saw him walking to the locker room as if he were an 85-year-old man. For anyone who has ever had a serious groin injury, you can spot THAT WALK a mile away. :(

Rotoworld:

Speaking Tuesday, Jay Cutler (torn groin) said he's hoping to beat his four-week timetable for a return.
"I'll push it as much as I can," Cutler said. "That's up to the trainers and doctors." Cutler described himself as "day to day," but there's a zero percent chance he starts in Week 9. Week 10 is almost as unlikely. Week 11 would be a best-case scenario, but Week 12 will probably be Cutler's first real shot at returning.

Of course he wants to return early. He's playing for a new contract.

Nice, but somewhat irrelevant because once Cutler is healthy the job is his. I was actually really surprised how well McCown looked in that Offense. I mean, the receivers were bailing him out quite a bit but they do the same exact thing for Cutler.

I actually did pick McCown up in one league in case he looked good again this week. Don't want to use my Waiver Wire position on him next week, lol.

Are you sure?
Pretty sure even if McCown lights it up for 3 Touchdowns / 300 Yards the next couple games that it's still Jay Cutler's gig, yes. Add to the fact all of Cutler's stats previous to this game are more impressive than this one game anomaly.

People are more dense than they used to be.

It wasn't always necessary to explain that, yes, McCown should not start over Cutler based on 3 seconds of game action.

Carry on.

Lord you are stupid. Must be pathetic to live around you.
ok, fair points by some of you guys on the game participation --- I can admit when I'm busted.

cutler+n only had 8 attempts to 20 for the well traveled mccown

I'll extrapolate those 8 out to 20 by multiplying cutler+n's stats by 2.5 to even it up

josh mccown - 20 att for 237 total yds, 70% comp, 10 ypa, 1 td to 0 int

Anyone have any updates on prognosis/ETA for Cutler's return?
