How Do You Get Your News? Email Newsletters? (1 Viewer)

For people that say they get their news from the political forum, you're not serious are you?
I’m serious. Every important story is posted and discussed here.

I mean, people post links and I check those....

I don’t subscribe to any news sources and I don’t have cable.

Here you get nuanced discussions and you get to hear the right wing views without having to go to the terribly biased right wing websites.

I usually watch PBS news In the evenings that I get over an antennae, but I’m usually up to speed already from here.

Now, if SaintsInDome went to work for PBS I probably would spend as much time here.

Yes. Are you suggesting that the plethora of news articles and links posted here are "fake"?

:)  For the Twitter folks, can you talk about specifically how you do it?

Do you have a list of news sources you check compared to your entire feed? Other things?

Twitter is such a huge resource these days. It seems like it needs much more description than just saying "twitter".
Wait, Twitter is okay/good to you but this forum isn't?

Key for me is to follow a cross-section of *active* national and local reporters on Twitter to fill my breaking news fix.  Usually start with the big guns, reputable, well-known folks, and what winds up happening is you find some gems whom *they* follow that you might not otherwise know.  I do this with politics, weather, sports, and brain/neuro stuff (my profession).

I follow conservative and liberal opinion winks.  I watch CNN, MSNBC, and the Sunday news shows for more context and opinion stuff.  And I get a lot out of this forum to flesh out opinions of those news nuggets...and occasionally I learn of news items I didn’t catch on Twitter.

I follow some of the major newspapers and sites... Washington Post, NYTimes, Politico, The Economist, some local news stations.  Stuff like that.

Also have a mix of journalists/reporters that I follow -- mix of people with papers or major TV networks (people like David Fahrenthold, Maggie Haberman, Kyle Griffin, Aaron Blake). Also have some foreign correspondents/writers (like Anne Applebaum) so I can keep tabs on world affairs .
