How do you guys feel about Warner? (1 Viewer)

I am high on him because of the talent around him

Fitz, Boldin, Bryant Johnson(former 1st rounder), Leonard Pope, and Edge.
You blocking for him? That's my main concern, his ability to play this season injury free.

True but with those WR's..if the defense isn't playing cover 2(so it won't get beat deep) then they are dumb. Plus with Edge....im not sure defenses will be able to blitz as much.

His OL will be ok. Warner himself however, will be brittle no matter who is blocking for him.I think hes good for 270/1.4 a game, while healthy; but Im not in the business of predicting when he'll get hurt.

Not a bad 9th round pick (12 teams) --- 8th round is pushing it --- Coupled with Leinart -- it's a pretty good combo from a value standpoint---- (I could throw for 2500 yards with those 2 WRs)

Pop did a lot for the game of football but will always be remembered most for his contributions to youth football in america.

Obviously a spin off from your rate my team in the AC forum but that is OK. I would not trade Warner and Holt for Brady and Bruce but your QB situation of Warner and Grossman backing him up is scary. Look for a cheap upgrade not a Holt trade.

Perhaps this has been covered but if you look at his per game numbers from last year you can see more reasons to get exited about his numbers. While Edge is a plus I don't expect them to run any more than before because they are a passing team first. Green doesn't exactly have a long track record of running excessively so I doubt that'll change mush. Lastly the O-line is still a better pass blocking team than run blocking. You've got to play to your strengths.Of course this is contengent on him staying healthy.

Last year the Ariz qb ranked #1 in FF. Edge will help with the blocking as well as keep defenses honest from just all out blitzing all day. I'm a Stl guy so Warner is a mortal god for me and although I haven't liked him the last couple years from a FF perspective I think he rebounds this year and keeps his health. I know you can't predict something like that but just a gut feeling.

I think he'll finish in the top 5.

Just my opinion.

Really? In what league(s)?

they finished first in passing offense average per game last season....in fact they had 20 yards more per game then the second best passing offense(NE)
True. But they did not have the #1 QB as was suggested. Now they did finish #1 in pass yards. But they also finished #12 in TD's and #27 in INT's. When added together that's not #1 stuff unless TD's and INT's improve. Of course in leagues that only award yards that's great. But most leagues do consider TD's and many INT's.

And as I said, I see Warner as a sleeper pick that can be top 5 if healthy for 16 games. Getting a solid back up will critical to protect against that risk. And Leinart is not the back up I'm referring to.

Like I said earlier, if healthy he's a postential top 5. Definately a sleeper pick. But I will sleep better with Manning or Palmer as my QB.

Who wouldn't? You do realize, however, that only two teams get to have those QB's and that you have to invest a much higher pick to get them than Warner? That said, I think Warner is a great value in drafts but I'd certainly only consider him if I were looking to Platoon a couple of QB's from that same tier or if I could get him cheap as a backup for a QB with a better injury history. Warner's upside is quite high but so it his risk factor.

Warner's ADP is very appealing. Without risking too high of a pick, you'll probably get a top-7/8 QB if he stays healthy (possibly top-5). As far as the injury thing, I believe most people are assuming too much.

Predicting certain injury doesn't make a whole lot of sense, IMO. I'm not sure, myself, but if Warner falls far enough, I'll be all over him in a redraft. Dynasty is a little different, but it's highly unlikely the Cards will make the switch to Leinart if they're winning. I could easily see Leinart waiting 2 full years like Carson Palmer did.
