How do you pronounce Nevada? (1 Viewer)

There is a town in Missouri called Nevada but it's pronounced:

Nuh VAY Duh
There's also Versailles in MO, pronounced Ver-Sails. There are other examples of small towns in MO pronounced 'uniquely'. MO folks are weird.
Similarly, I've been informed by a Wisconsinite that "Prairie du Chien" is not pronounced anywhere close to the original French. Which I guess is true of Des Moines, IA as well.

and Fond du Lac uses an English pronunciation.

Ponce de Leon Ave in Atlanta is not pronounced in French either and that is a telltale sign of an outsider if they try to do so.

Michiganders somehow turned Bois Blanc into bob-lo
