I was going to read that article on pronunciation, but the title screwed up the lyrics to a song about pronunciation.

I have definitely pronounced it both ways, if I think about it I use coo- but sometimes when I say it, it comes out cue.

COO-Pon is correct.

My daughter say CUE-Pon

I always ask her, "Do you eat Syuep? Or Soup?
Actually, In WI and MN the first is quite frequent. They love taking 2-vowel 1-syllable words and making them 2 syllables. Boat is a great example.

I grew up in Iowa and said cue-pon as a kid. At some point I decided to start pronouncing words correctly.

COOP-on

Cue-pon

Coopin'

Those are the ones I've always heard. The 3rd one is weird. 'Got a coopin for that cereal'?
