How do you rate A. Green and B. Favre after last night? (1 Viewer)

A. Green seems to be the starter and looked somewhat hesitant at times. The Cinci Defense had the holes filled so it could have been L. Johnson as I see it. I was mainly looking for that burst he used to have once he got past the line of scrimmage.

Favre looked alright. The one fumble wasn't his fault and one INT went through his WR's hands.

The offense as a whole just didn't look like it could move the chains. It would be nice to see A. Green get 250+ carries. Is that reasonable?

It's all over the internet that D. Davis may be cut from the team as early as Friday. Since he passed his physical at the beginning of training camp, some state that the rule is that D.Davis can't be placed on the PUP list and would have to be cut. My situation is as follows: 10-team league, Normal 6pt. Rush TD, 4pt. Pass TD, 1 pt./Reception....Start 1QB, 1RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1Flex (RB or WR), 1PK, 1DT.....Normally start 2RB and 2WRRB: R. Johnson, L. Jordan, B. WestbrookQB: M. Vick, A. BrooksWR: D.Driver, T.J. Hous., R.Smith, M.Muhammad, M.ClaytonTE: T. GonzalezThere are some DT and PK's left, but they typically don't present much value. I have Moats targeted late, but Lundy or Morency could present quite a bit of value at 12.02. V. Davis is available at TE, but I'm counting on Gonzalez for the year at that position.Any help is appreciated.
This is for the ACF and you need to use SEARCH! Or just look 5 posts down

Looks like a legitimate topic to me.

Green looked healthy, but the o-line is atrocious. Awful defense means they'll be out of many games by halftime which will force them out of the running game. Best you can hope for is a reprise of last years numbers without the season ending injury

Bret does his best work scrambling and playing the gunslinger. Good news. That o-line will keep him scrambling. You'll see a lot more of those meaningless TDs like he threw to Driver at the end of the half. He's a legitimate fantasy starter if you aren't penalized too seriously for interceptions, although certainly not elite.

I'm also bumping up Driver and Jennings. If their defense continues to suck, they'll have a 75-25 passing to running play ratio.

I have never been a Driver fan, even though logic tells me I should. This year he should suck, as I drafted him because he presented far too much value to pass up in my league last night.

I even took Ahman - decent upside in the 8th. Better value than when I had him last year - taken LONG before then. :bag:

Oh, got Jennings in the 16th to boot (12 teamer)

Favre looked alright. The one fumble wasn't his fault and one INT went through his WR's hands.
Unfortunately he'll be playing with the same guys all year. Favre looked ok, but frustrated with his recievers and line, and a frustrated Favre makes mistakes. He'll have big games and bad games this season. I like him in a league that autoselects the top scorer, but not so much in a standard league.

I think there are 3 certainties with Farve:

1) He'll play every game unless he decides to sit out towards the end for the sake of Aaron Rodger's development - I don't see this happening though.

2) He's going to throw at least 20 INT's, probably a few more.

3) He's going to have a lot of inconsistentcy from game to game. One game, he'll throw for 340 3 TD, and 2 INT, and the next game, he'll throw for 180 and 1 INT.

- With the OLine in not so good shape, he's going to be under pressure all season to get rid of the ball quickly.

- Donald Driver is a very dependable target for Farve, but does he have a #2 ? Ferguson never lived up to what many thought he'd do, and Jennings looks like a freak, but it's still the pre-season.

- Can Ahman Green, or any RB, run behind that line ?

Favre looked like crap!!! He's making rookie type mistakes. If a coach or organization were evaluating a QB (not knowing history or anything else) who played like the way he's playing right now, he wouldn't make the team...let alone be signed.

:fishing: (or - the dumbest post ever. You decide...)

My thoughts haven't changed:

Favre -- still represents terrific value in my opinion given his ADP.

Green -- won't touch him unless he were to represent ridiculous value that was impossible to ignore.

Driver -- absolutely love him this year and am targeting him as my WR1 in the third or fourth round.

Of course, last week he looked like a world beater and better than he has in a long time. Pre-season is still just that. Teams are never as good as they look in their great week and not as bad as they look in a terrible week.

Favre's recievers sucked last night.. not Favre.

I think Favre and Driver get ticked up a notch. They may be throwing early and often each and every game.

Favre should do better than his numbers last year, and I am actually predicting a decrease in INTs for him. There's no way he ends his career playing worse than he did last year, IMO.
