What if Andrew Luck made himself available for the NFL Supplemental Draft. I doubt anyone wants that to be first-come-first-serve, waiver priority, or even blind bid.

What about leagues that are not auction or blind bidding leagues? It's an open auction.
Why not on bold - puts everyone on equal footing. That's how we've done it in the past in my league that has off season waivers (blind bidding). They went into the pool when available.'Hoss_Cartwright said:What if Andrew Luck made himself available for the NFL Supplemental Draft. These leagues don't use blind bidding for waivers. It's based upon waiver priority (standings last to first), then fcfs for couple days after that until kickoff. Why not on bold - puts everyone on equal footing. What about leagues that don't use bids for waivers?copied from our Constitution:
Whenever the NFL has a Supplemental Draft, Phenomz will also have their own Supplemental Draft approx. 1 week later. The Phenomz Supplemental Draft will be setup in a thread with bids made publicly in an auction style format open for approx. two days. Bids for a player can be made using the team's following season's draft picks still owned (any picks acquired/lost through trade are not eligible to be bid). Highest bid gets the player and loses the pick that was bid. Value of the following season’s picks will be based on the timeframe of the NFL Supplemental Draft. If occurs during off-season or in-season between wk #1 thru #7, than the pick value will be based on the past season’s standings. If occurs in-season between wk #8 thru #16, than the pick value will be based on the present season’s standings. If a Supplemental player is acquired during wk. #14 thru #16 (our post-season), the player will be frozen and the team will receive a roster exemption.
We don't use bids for normal waivers either. In-season regular waivers are based on priority of present standings (worst to first). This bidding process is only for handling the Supplemental Draft only. What about leagues that don't use bids for waivers?copied from our Constitution:

I can't say that would be a popular choice for such a stud QB prospect. I think the best thing is to not make him available until the 2012 draft. We don't have specific wording in the rules but, based on precedent, he would be available per waiver priority. Not tremendously different from other sudden changes in value that occur; injuries, retirement, etc.
you are not bidding FAAB $, you are "bidding" with future draft picksif two teams' "bids" tie (both bid a 2012 first) he would be given to the lowest 2012 pick at that time (so the 2011 order would convert to 2012 temporarily)What about leagues that don't use bids for waivers?copied from our Constitution:

There was a guy - his name escapes me - that people had similar concerns about a few years ago. I think he was with the 'Boys and played some baseball... Anyway, I think the concerns surrounding about him were overblown at the time and that proved to be the case. While I'm sure Luck will fare much better, I don't see this particular league making a rule change for one player. Good players have fallen into people's lap before. The most recent example being Arian Foster, who was acquired as a free agent late in '09.You may be right that leagues should have a plan to deal with such a situation. But do you think there is any chance Luck would actually do that?I can't say that would be a popular choice for such a stud QB prospect. I thought of that Luck thing a few weeks ago. If he didn't want to go to Car. he could just go to the Bills a few months later. What if Andrew Luck made himself available for the NFL Supplemental Draft. I doubt anyone wants that to be first-come-first-serve, waiver priority, or even blind bid.
...because fantasy football needs more Luck (pun intended). We don't have specific wording in the rules but, based on precedent, he would be available per waiver priority. Not tremendously different from other sudden changes in value that occur; injuries, retirement, etc.
Why can't you use traded picks?copied from our Constitution:

Just another small reason why Offdee is the best commish in the game.copied from our Constitution:

The thing with Supplemental Drafts is you never really know when they're going to happen. You have to have something in place which outlines how they are to be handled at any point throughout the entire year.Or just wait until closer to the season to have your rookie draft...
