How far does Jeff Okudah fall if NYG pass on him? (1 Viewer)

I do think the Lions take him, but it wouldn't be completely shocking to see the big 3 QBs, Young, Simmons and one of Wills/Thomas/Wirfs go before him.

If he falls past 7 (Carolina) I'll be thinking there's something we don't know about him.

Carolina at 7 is a major possibility, that is who  I took for them in the Shark Pool mock. Their CBs are really bad and they have to play Julio, Ridley, Evans, Godwin, Mike Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders. This is a major major need for them.

CAR #7 at worst.

I expect the Lions to trade down to #6.  So expect Okudah in that spot unless they take Simmons.  In which case Okudah falls to CAR.

I'd personally take him over Chase Young, but that is unlikely to happen, even though Okudah would hep the Redskins a lot more than Young would, as edge rusher is arguably the best position on the team already.

If the Lions and Giants both pass, that likely means either Washington(possible) or Detroit(unlikely, but not impossible) surprised and took a QB, or traded with someone who did. If that scenario falls, and it wasn't Miami or the Chargers who traded up, I could see the Chargers taking Okudah. They were in the top-3 in subpackage defenses run, and that was without guys like Derwin James for much of the year, and without Chris Harris at all. A secondary of Hayward, Harris, and Okudah at CB, with King and James at S would be terrifying, and perhaps exactly what it will take to stop Mahomes and the Chiefs.

In lieu of that, I can't see any way Carolina could pass. They had below average CB's already, and then Bradberry left.

If he somehow falls to Arizona, that pick should take 5 seconds to make.

I think Okudah is a stud, the best CB prospect of the last 4 drafts. I fully expect him to be a top-5 NFL CB by 2022. Potentially #1.

I'm a raging OSU fan, but I just don't see the hype on Okudah.  He was good I don't recall him being a shut-down guy even in college.  Opposing teams didn't exactly avoid him and he didn't exactly take guys out of the game plan.  Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention, maybe Arnette's simply good enough (another one I'm not sold on) that teams really didn't have a choice going at Okudah sometimes and sometimes even blind squirrels find a nut?  I just don't recall him as a dominant guy.
