How high does A.Peterson go in a keeper league? (1 Viewer)

The last time I checked for a 12 team league Peterson's ADP was around 5.05. That of course is for a redraft league.

Where does he go in a keeper league? 1st round? 2nd round?

I am in a keeper league where the max amount of keepers are 2. I will only be keeping Addai, so I have the 4th pick whichis basically 2.09

So in a 2 player keeper league, is AD worth the 2.09 pick?

that is a good question....i would like to know to.

i do think he will be a special player....so second round sounds about right.

say somebody is starting a brand new 2 player keeper league where everyone is available. What would Peterson's ADP be.

I think he has to go top-middle of the 2nd depending on how elite you think he will be.

FWIW: In our 12 team Keep-3 league with an early draft, he went at 1.04. Marshawn my have been the steal at 2.03 to the guy with Rudi and FWP. Time will tell.

My 14 team leauge just did our initial dynasty draft. We have played re-draft together for the past four years and just switched to dynasty. I would say 10-14 owners are sharks, with the last four as average FF players.

I took addai in the first and got ADP at 4.05. Which I think was a steal. We will be keeping 6 players each year. Hope that helps.

This question is confusing unless you use clinton_c's assume everyone is available disclaimer. Otherwise there are just too dang many variables. I think top-middle of the 2nd sounds pretty good, if not too early.

It seems risky to project him to outperform some really solid backs that will still be there.

I'd guess in a 12-team, 2 player keeper league, pretty much expect the top 24 picks to be kept. I don't think you'd find anyone dropping Manning, Rudi Johnson, or Willie Parker to take a flyer on a guy that is in an RBBC for his first season. Also, the fewer players kept means the less risk you can tolerate in keepers. You don't draft and hold onto guys like Matt Leinart hoping they'll be keepers one year, the better value is in the top-30 players each season. If you really want him he'll still be there in the second or third round anyway. With only 2 keepers you can't look too far ahead. I'd expect him to go between 2.05 and 3.10. With the 2.09 pick, though, you'd probably find a better player that has already been dropped by another team than pay at or above value for ADP.

10 sharks passed on him in the late 3rd early 4th??
You just said, there are a lot of established RBs and other position players that should be taken ahead of them. We also start two QBs, so in a 14 team league a lot of QBs went in the first 4 rounds.

It's impossible to nail down a guy's value in a keeper league since it's so rules-dependent. How many can you keep, is there a salary/points system, how long can you keep him for, etc.

In general, though, if I could keep two guys indefinitely, I would be targeting Peterson as my RB3 and would look at him as early as the beginning of the third round. You need to have one eye on the future, yes, but don't go overboard on planning for the future. Even Tomlinson wasn't a stud his first year, and a lot can happen between now and whenever you anticipate Peterson will reach that status.

I would assume that if the league is fairly standard in terms of scoring and roster makeup, he easily a second round draft pick, if not a late first in a start-up keep 2/3 league. You're talking about a guy that looks like he has the potential to be a yearly top 5-10 RB for a long time. I understand those that say you don't want to look too far ahead, but if I'm going RB in round one, aside from LT, Jackson, Gore, Addai and maybe Parker, I would think Peterson falls right in with the group of Bush, Maroney, Westbrook, Alexander... In redrafts, I've seen him end up a RB2 in a number of leagues. It's not like a lot out there think he's going to be riding the pine a lot this season.

I'm in a 14-team 3 player keeper league and I know for a fact he's going to be the first RB off the board. 23 RBs were kept in this league with Clinton Portis being the highest ranked non-rokkie RB in the upcoming draft, and I'd certainly take ADP over him.
