I've always thought calling a preseason game would be the hardest game to do. Focus isn't that much on the game later on. It's late in this one and I'm wondering if maybe Theismann was right? Jaws is trying to do his thing and Kornheiser just seems intent on badgering him with whiny stuff.

They should have a "football" guy in there, not a generic sports show announcer. Or better yet, just 2 guys in there. Still, he isn't anywhere near as bad Theisman and Jaws is so dead on money with his analysis he won't care about Korny. I'd put up with Maguire and/or Theisman just to have Jaws in there. Best analyst I've ever listened to.

Agreed and I also like this crew. Kornheiser knows exactly what he is doing so i do wish he would tone down the stupid stuff and stick more to the game but I have a feeling ESPN likes when he talks off topic or foolish like he does?

For the most part I agree with this.......I think I prefer two. The play by play guy and then the guy who offers some feedback, knows about the game. Something like Michaels/Madden.......I don't think you need to add the third guy because the two you have don't have what a solid two would. I so far don't really like Tony K as a football announcer.......I think he's boring and isn't really a football specialist. Mike Tirico is a good guy.............but he's exactly what I'm talking about when saying about needing 3 guys if you don't have the right chemistry for only 2. He's not really an exciting guy.....I don't wait to see what he's gonna say or really find what he's saying very interesting. He certainly doesn't offend me and doesn't irratate me but if it were just him and some other guy.....I think he'd be to vanilla, so you need 3 guys with him. For me, I could take him or leave him.....probably lean more on taking him but if I asked who's announcing the game (if it were a game i didn't know) and someone said Mike Tirico.......I wouldn't be like "Sweet!" I'd be more like......"Meh, Ok, who else is with him?"

If Woody Paige was in the booth it would be literally unlistenable. I would be completely unable to watch the game unless it was muted. If I was trapped somewhere and the volume control was broke, I'd bang my head against a wall until everything went blissfully dark.

I've always thought Jaws and TK like each other a lot. I figure by mid-season we will all be happy that the infighting between Joe T and TK is gone. Plus, Jaws is just better than JT anyhow. The crew will be an improvement either way.
