How many Trick R Treaters did you get? (1 Viewer)

Probably about 20. Definitely FAR fewer than normal due to rain. But, my kid braved the elements and was richly rewarded by people trying to get rid of their candy with not enough kids to take it all!

We were out with our kid and his friends for most of the night last night so didn't get an exact count but probably around 120 or so.

Hey.......take the politics out of here
Sorry - almost left it out, but there's no intended endorsement and I thought it was funny. Surely he's one of the most easily imitated people imaginable, but didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. I would have thought the story was just as funny if she was dressed as Pee Wee Herman, but YMMV and again to reiterate the story wasn't meant to be political at all.

I was joking. Didn't mean it to be taken seriously. I thought about putting a "hahhahaha" after it but left it off. No worries. It's all good.

:bag: Now I feel silly. I guess I know too many people in real life who have lost their minds over this election. Should have known is from what I remember you're a solid poster.

Anyway, in keeping with the thread one of my coworkers had some adult friends visiting him from overseas who were desperate to see what trick or treating was about. So he rigged them up with some construction worker outfits and they walked one of the neighborhoods around here with him explaining why they were adults trick or treating. Apparently they were treated great by everyone and had a fantastic time.

I wasn’t going to give out candy because my daughter was performing with her college symphony, but I was going to be home for the first 45 minutes or so I grabbed some and I was glad I did. My little town (really it’s about 4 streets surrounded by other towns) does a costume contest for the kids just down the street to kick it off, so I tend to get 70-100 kids right away and then they all disappear within an hour.

Maybe got about 40 and it was windy and rainy here.

Hope they post the orchestra thing to YouTube. The musicians were all in costume, some of which were hilarious. The program was “fun” stuff like Danse Macabre, Night on Bald Mountain, etc.

Not many, probably less than 40, but check this; the wife wanted to leave a big bowl of candy out so no one would ring the doorbell and disturb the dogs. I discouraged that, saying the first kids would just take all the candy and probably the bowl too. She didn't care, she just wanted to do her part while letting the dogs relax. So we did that. I went out a couple times and the candy levels went down but there was still plenty in there. Then I went out to retrieve the bowl at 9pm and there were still 12 or so pieces in the bowl. Perhaps my opinion of humanity was lower than warranted

30-50

Slow night. I was watching the Jets game and being thusly incensed while others handed out candy 🍭 🍫 Lollipops and full-size bars were the order of the day. But not many kids compared to years past.

Zero. Living in the northwoods is a little different.

Went to the bar down the street for pizza and fried chicken buffet night. Came out and were treated to a beautiful snowfall.

Did the leave the candy outside in a bowl a few years ago. Someone dumped out the candy and took the bowl.

We left our bowl outside while we took the kid around. When we came home there was different candy in the bowl. Checked the ring cam and we ran out of candy at one point and one of the kids came by and dumped some of their candy into the bowl.

I grew up in a neighborhood that was very active in halloween trick or treaters. At least 200 hundred kids per halloween.

I currently live in the sticks, and have for 9 years. In those 9 years, not one child has darkened our door for halloween. I has a sad.

That's what I expected

243 kids. When we moved into our current house 19 years ago, we were shocked by the numbers, My wife keeps a little tally by the door. Like one other poster said, I think we have become a destination neighborhood where kids are driven in to. I budget for $125-$150 for candy and last year we got stuck with an absolute ton of candy because the weather was bad. This year we ran out by 7:30.

I know everyone talks about the ills of the youth of today, but Halloween just brings my faith in humanity back. Probably 95% of the kids said Trick or Treat. thank you and many commented on our decorations. The costumes were amazing. It was a great night.
