How Much better is AD than Chester? (1 Viewer)

Which is why I believe ADP, while an elite talent, is actually overrated.
I agree. I have ADP in a keep 2 league. I also have Moss and Westbrook. I am seriously considering sending ADP back into the auction pool in that league because I think we saw a glimpse of the future last season vs. the Bears. He had a great game in the first week (I think it was a franchise record for yards rushing against) but the second time he played them, he was outshined tremendously by Adrian Peterson, (the other[/] Adrian Peterson. I remember watching him on the sidelines of that game (league championship week no less) and the coaches just wouldn't put him in. This is going to be a problem this season as well methinks.

I know you can't take away the two huge games he did have, but if he tweaks a knee or something in one of those games, his rushing totals don't look quite so impressive. He's a boom or bust type of player IMHO and while that may be great, it might also destroy a season for an owner.

What is the old saying? "You can't win your league in the first two rounds, but you can lose it."

Total BS. A boom/bust player is one that will perform badly, even if given his touches. An example would be a guy that gets 300 touches for 1600 total yards and 10 TD's, then follows it up with 300 touches for 1000 yards and 3 TD's. There is no way ADP busts. None at all. If he gets 250+ touches, he will be a top-10 RB. Now, if he gets hurt, that's a different story...

Me thinks you're gonna be tremendously sorry for doing so when you see a healthy AP running all over defenses this season. I don't know how to reiterate this point enough - AP was not the same player post injury last season. He came back in about three weeks from what was originally thought to be a 4-6 week injury and did not look the same. He was lacking the burst and extra gear and it showed in his stats. With a full offseason of rest and rehab I have no doubt in my mind that we'll see the first half '08 Peterson not the second half '08 version that so many are fearful of in this thread and others.

AP is sick. Barring another injury he will be a top 3 RB this year even if Chet takes 30-35% of the touches. And if the coaches ride him more to the tune of 70-75% of the touches, he will be #1 overall.
