Good god I could go on forever.

Hmmm.

Drop some specially made rye bread into a cave in the south of France, leave it there for six to eight weeks, and then harvest the mold. Fresh white cheese is brought into the “cave,” the penicillium spores are released into the air (rather than directly into the cheese, so that the fermentation happens evenly), and the tell-tale green ashy flakes start showing up in a few weeks. Three months in, the color is most evident, and then as the cheese ages, some of the green mold flakes start to disappear.

Melted cheese is heavenly.

You could melt cheese on poop and I'd probably eat it and think it tasted delicious.

How much cheese do I eat?

More than I probably should, but nowhere near as much as I'd like to.

It tends to give me the runs (slightly lactose intolerant)

Our family of 5 (kids 12, 10, 5) plows through cheese. We buy a 5lb block of cheddar every 5-7 days and I have no clue how much we buy of other cheeses.

Big fan of Manchego.

Try that with some quince paste. You'll thank me later.

I sometimes eat half a pound in one sitting.
:goodposting: I rarely buy cheese because of this. I have destroyed whole blocks of Colby and Colby Jack in one sitting.now that I think about it, those blocks may be 10oz or 16oz. :bag:

Just made myself a grilled cheese. Used aged white Irish Cheddar (Dubliner I think) and some hot peppers in the sandwich.

Love all cheeses except for goat. To me it has a vile disgusting taste. Can't eat it.
Try an authentic neapolitan pizza with goat cheese, prosciutto, arugula, red pepper and garlic. It's so good I would probably order it as my last meal.

My salad tonight had four-five kinds of cheese.
Please tell me this was before the real meal.
Afterward, actually. Stir fry veggies and marinated chicken strips over rice. Waited awhile, then had the greens as a type of desert, if you will.
Actually, sounds good.Still, blouse.
:lmao: As with a lot of things, centers around catering to the toddler. She'll eat rice and stir fry. Fresh greens, no dice. So we eat what she will eat first.

me: Cheese?

her: "Smells" (crinkles up nose)

me: Smells awesome!

her: shakes head, walks away

Devastating having a kid that won't eat cheese.

Just had a snack of raw milk sharp cheddar and some sort of blue cheese that smells like stinky feet

Along with a glass of sour beer

Don't give up on her. I hated cheese until I was in HS. Now I can't get enough of it. I went to Harry Caray's a few weeks ago and had a wedge salad with crumbled gorgonzola and blue cheese dressing, a gorgonzola crusted porterhouse and a bottle of Chateauneuf-du-Pape

Current favorite type of 'cheese and crackers' cheese. Yancy's Fancy Steakhouse Onion Cheddar. Spec-damn-tacular.

Having spent the last 15+ years travelling to the land of the cheese - WI, have grown to love fried cheese curds. Done correctly these are epic. Had some at a county fair this summer and they were delicious. The guy breaded them in front of me and threw them in the fryer. Ooozing deliciousness. (Special way he did them, no fat or calories! ;) )

Worst thread ever cause now I am sitting here at work craving some-kinda-cheese and there is not a damn thing I can do about it.

Ah screw it, good thread. Same concept as the yoga pants thread.

I'm not gonna kid ya this is one of the best snacks. Some plain saltines with some gourmet cheese, awesome. I probably hit the grocery once a week for the expensive stuff, I'm not even sure what I'm getting and I can't remember the names, but it's from all over the US and the world and goes great with excellent beer. Nice snack for watching sports or when I come home from work or weekend afternoon.
