How much does Fantasy Football cost you? (1 Viewer)

Don't mess with Texas
Just curious, we spend a lot of time on the hobby so I have two questions:

1. How much do you spend on research/resources such as subscriptions, analytics, etc....(You can do a range if you are uncomfortable with this question i.e. (($300-$500)). You can list your resources if you wish.

2. How much do you spend on the in-season hobby itself?

I’ll go first:

1. Resources $400.00

2. Hobby spend $3,500.00 which for me also includes playing “Pick 4” and “Weekly Picks” redraft, Dynasty and High Stakes included.

1. Resources: ~$50/yr

2. Annual league fees: 1 is $70, one is $100, so $170. In the latter, adds are $4, so I’ll drop another $80 on roster moves  since it is IDP.

I’m around $350 a year.

Which is nowhere near what it’s worth to me since I love the game & I've played it forever.  My IDP is a 20 year league with very little turnover, so the live in-person draft every year with a keg & pizzas and mountains of trash talk. Sometimes that’s the only time us old friends get to see each other & it’s for sure the only time all 12 get together since a couple are out of state.

That’s priceless.

5 leagues, ranging from $25 to $200 each, total $550 (3 dynasty, 2 redraft)

Footballguys is the only subscription/research other than watching/reading ESPN/NFL.

Amount of fun I've had with this hobby is priceless.

1) Basically nothing unless you count a subscription to the Athletic for about $4 a month although FF is not the reason I got it.

2) Somewhere between $5-10K (not including DFS)

I'm glad you didn't ask how much time we put into FF.

Im a lil sad when my last draft is over

Serious answer- I used to be in as many as 6 money leagues back in my pre-dad days. Spent thousands of dollars playing in some big money leagues. I’ve been playing since the mid-90’s, back when we did standings by hand using USA Today box scores. I’m now down to two money leagues and one free league.

I created a league in 1996 with friends and family that is still going. I’ve been the commish of that league since its inception and we dedicated the league and championship belt to my late older brother who passed away a little over two years ago at 40 from cancer, and had been in the league since the beginning.

Total yearly league fees are $200.

Same here.  Started doing that in 1993.  Would go half blind trying to parse those box scores.  Now in 1 league with total costs around $100.
