How much, If any, does BMarsh bump up (1 Viewer)

A Jets defense minus Jenkins, Pace, Revis, and possibly Taylor isn't such a formidable opponent as it once was. That said, how much of a bump does Marshall get against a defense that will surely be selling out to stop Ronnie and Ricky. The Dolphins have looked stagnant with the ball, is the week they break out the whooping stick on their division rival?

HUGE bump up as far as I am concerned. With Revis in there, I bench Marshall for Greg Jennings. No Revis, I go with Marshall all day long. He should tear up Cromartie or Wilson.

That would be conventional wisdom. I'm just not sure if we'll see the Jets' secondary that got torched by Boldin and Housh in Week 1 or the one that shut down Moss and Welker in the second half of Week 2.

He may even average 11 yards per catch instead of his usual 10.

Randy Moss had a grand total of 0 Catches after Revis left the game. The Jets D is not friendly to any passing offense. I do not know how a huge bump comes into play here. I would say a small bump, but Marshall has not had much to work with anyway, and add that to one of the best D's in the league.

He did have some big games against Cromartie in the past. It may just be my FF-Owner Glasses, but I think he has a huge day against the Jets. Something along the lines of 8-10 catches for 90-120 yards and a touch. It also wouldn't surprise me to see him be mixed into a Wildcat play or two as the motion man.

Brady also missed a few throws, especially the interception in the endzone. If Moss catches that ball, Marshall would this week's must start at WR.

Maybe its Cromarties Atoll or something but he played Moss well although the routes looks basic and Brady was forcing it and inaccurate. Henne hasn't impressed but if I had Marshall I'd probably start him. 6/75/1

I just posted this on another board:

marshall should have a TD in the 1st, but henne rushed a goaline pass, threw a second too early, and to the wrong shoulder.
He should have had a 50+ yard TD in the first game too, but I don't get points for "shoulda TDs". It seems like with how inept the Miami pass offense is and how often they love to pull Henne in the redzone in favor of the widcat we will be in store for a nice long season of lost opportunities and shoulda TDs.
Until I see Miami do something worthwhile I am going to continue to expect underwhelming performances from him. Santana Moss and Dez Bryant "are" or "are damn near" outperforming him on my bench, and seem to be growing more and more upside than Marshall offers each week. I am a Vikings fan so I had to watch that ugly excuse for a game on Sunday and the only thing worse than how the Vikings played was how the Dolphins passed the ball. IF the Dolphins are winning or are in the game they will run the ball. If they are in the redzone they will pull Henne for the wildcat. In the little amount of playtime leftover after that for Henne and Marshall to connect - they don't, and if it is its for 6 yard receptions.I think he has the talent to get it done but if they don't start playing from behind "a lot" I think there are a lot of 6-68-0 games in store for him. I don't see him getting more than 6 TD's this years.

Having Marshall on 12 teams makes me kick something everytime I see the stats of his games. This kid has all kinds of talent just look at what he did in Denver and now he doesn't get used nearly enough.

I was totally off on my idea that Marshall was worth a 10-15 pick this year. Got him in 2 dynasty leagues and 10 other leagues and he is killing me.

Traded the farm to get this guy in 1 dynasty league. A 3rd and 4th start up pick and 2011 1st rounder.

Miami is like the worst place this kid could have landed.

His value might go up only because he torched Cromartie once for 21 catches but Miami might not throw 21 passes in this game.

not a whole hell of a lot until the Dolphins take the training wheels off of their pass offense.
Until Miami decides to do this, they will be killing Marshall and Henne. The potential is there for the Dolphins to have an amazing offense this year. But they are playing scared and predictable. The could very easily be 0-2. They have absolutely NO killer instinct at all. How many times did they have a shot to run the clock out against the Vikings? and all they do is run on 1st down...every time...They get the lead and put it on the defense. Look at the first play of the game? We need to see much more of this.

It is frustrating because it seems like Marshall's job is to catch 6 yard passes on 3rd down between the 20's so they can start running again on 1st and 2nd again. Also, to have a deep ball thrown to him once a game just to remind other teams that the Dolphins will throw a deep ball once a game.

I sometimes wonder if people watch football games.

Revis leaves... and the Jets D (who BY THE WAY does NOT only consist of Revis) shuts down Brady, Welker, Moss, Edelmen, Hernandez and the run. and by that i mean, ZERO POINTS IN THE SECOND HALF.

Now I'm no genius, but 101 times out of 100 I'd take the NE offense over Miami... they just don't compare.

I'm not saying Marshall is going to be shutout, but the Jets D is a unit.. not one man. Henne is going to see a lot of the ground next week... turnovers galore is my prediction

I was watching the Vikings/Miami game this weekend (I live in MN) and was amazed over and over how much they refused to stretch the field against a team that doesn't have a competent safety and walking wounded corners. The one time they tried it was a 50+ to Marshall. They seem to settle for a lot of Brown/Williams runs (understandable) and what looks like Brian Hartline dink&dunk. Are they scared that Marshall will go all Ginn on them?

If you get FF points for the PI yardage Cromartie is going to give up, bump Marshall big time. If not, not so much.

Marshall's game is much more comparable to Boldin than Moss or Welker. Welker is a small, quick WR and Moss is a blazing deep route WR. Marshall is a big target who runs the inside and outside routes. I like Marshall if Revis is away from the island.
