Lying is probably the first wrongful act by most humans. As children we know how to avoid the truth in order to avoid consequences. Religions that follow the 10 Commandments have a clear message to not bear false witness against your neighbor. Yet for some reason we don't see lying as being that big of a deal. We lie to kids about Christmas and the Tooth Fairy in order to protect their innocence. But what about other lies that you tell to protect yourself from harm or to gain an advantage? 

How often do you lie. And how often do you believe others lie to you?
