I thought you ended another thread talking about offing yourself. It could be
sometimes I talk to people that make the boxes
I think Trump said the whole box stacking industry is rigged.I don't see a promising future in the box stacking industry for myself.
have you tried to contact Trump yet? He might be able to pull some strings for you...So it may be it for me. I went on vacation this past week. Today I saw on the news my company laid off 90 more people. I check my voice mail and there's a message from the head of the department asking me to call her.
So, now my job search kicks in to high gear I guess. Wonder how much time they'll give me if any.
Good luck buddy. In my experience and with seeing this happen to some others it tends to work out for the best. Try not to worrySo it may be it for me. I went on vacation this past week. Hang in there man, probably will end up for the best as it doesn't sound like that company is headed in the right direction obviously. So it may be it for me. I went on vacation this past week. The Costanza approach. I like it.Don't call back. If you don't call you can't be fired. Just show up like you never received the voice mail.
Sounds like he's now on a very extended vacation, so.....yes.Are you still on vacation? I actually wouldn't call them back while you are on vacation unless they specifically called that out and asked you to.
She did specifically say that. I called at night but she was gone. Are you still on vacation? I actually wouldn't call them back while you are on vacation unless they specifically called that out and asked you to.

So this ended up being the right advice. Spoke to the manager and HR today. Got 6 months severance and I can get another job in that time if I wish. I'll still receive the severance.I went through a similar situation as you, on a timeline not too dissimilar, just a year ago. Started a new job in September 2014 after being at one spot my whole career, as part of a huge hiring blitz in order to operate better as a bank. About 8 months later, company decides that being a bank is just too expensive for the business model and they decide to more or less get out of the industry. Of course I freaked out even though I knew things would take time, because I was the last in on my team just like you. I went through my contacts and had some good leads but nothing optimal, and most would have come with a small pay cut. I let it play out and kept looking, knowing that there would still be a layoff period that would take time and knowing I'd get some severance out of it.
In October I was given 60 days notice of my eventual December layoff. At that point, if I left I would still get my bonus and the full severance package so I was in the clear. Because of how much they ####ed everyone, bringing in so many people only to cut bait so quickly, they gave a minimum of 10 weeks severance (by letter of the handbook, I was only due one week). Had a great opportunity come up in a better bank and set it up where my last day at the old place was a Friday, my first day at the new place was the following Monday. So I double dipped for 10 weeks, got paid out on vacation time, and got my bonus. It was pretty much an optimal scenario and I know I got lucky.
Point of all that is to show these things take time and there is a lot you can do to set yourself up as well as possible that goes beyond "sitting around waiting for the axe".
Good luck.
Dang, sorry buddy. How you like your chances of landing another gig in your field? So this ended up being the right advice. Spoke to the manager and HR today. Got 6 months severance and I can get another job in that time if I wish. I'll still receive the severance.
