How would you like to find a Gem of a Def/ST on the WW (1 Viewer)

Imagine you could find a defense that would face the likes of David Carr, Jason Campbell and Gus Frerotte for the next 3 weeks...ladies and gentlemen, I present to you direct from the desert, the Arizona Cardinals!!! "They are who we thought they were"..."And we let em off the hook!"

@St L

CAR

@Was

4 sacks last week, 4 the week before, 3 sacks the 1st week...Whisenhunt has them playing pretty good ball right now. Could be some easy points.

The Rams OL is pitiful and these guys grabbed 4 sacks last week on the vaunted Steelers OL...granted Big Ben isn't the most nimble but Frerotte is 36 years old too. Carr? David Carr??? And then Campbell who is mobile but is very streaky. Grab them now!!!

I like Tenn a little better.
I don't know...Harrington has been red hot the past two weeks, Jeff Garcia is efficient, not turning the ball over much, and then Matt Schaub...I think the Cardinals have a much better chance at easy points. The Rams are awful right now, then they move on to Carolina and the stumbling Skins...let's see but I think AZ has the better track the next few weeks.

Stumbling Skins? You lose 1 game and all the sudden you're stumbling?

I just picked them up with the intention of covering the Colts bye. Now I'm toying with starting them vs. STL over a Sanders-less Colts....

Good info, I picked up AZ this week as well. :goodposting:

I'm on the fence for the WAS matchup, but Gus and Carr look good. Maybe Breaston can break off a few more returns.

I already picked them up last week,I like the next 3 games for them.My main Def (MIN) has a bye coming up and I plan on playing them.

You make a strong case Mr. Ministry of Pain. I had the Titans as a long term solution but too many things can change. The Arizona Cardinals looks like a short term solution but I can bust my head in two weeks to get a new DEF of the week.

Roster size makes it that I must drop the Titans in favour of the Cardinals but in Whisenhunt we trust!

Great analysis sir.

What about the Giants next four: Jets, ATL, SF, Mia... Bye,Dallas (bad) - but then Det,Minn,Chi (all Turnover Machs...)Philly, Wash & Buff. Really only one BAD game in the bunch and they seem to be improving the last two weeks. NOBODY has stopped Dallas or GB really so the first two weeks don't look as bad & they did hold Favre under 300....

I like the Giants as well with that schedule. Lets not forget they can be thrown on. They gave up 80 points combined the first two weeks, and got 12 sacks VS an Eagles team missing a guard, with no Westbrook, and NO Wr's to speak of (Curtis 1 week wonder). They were one Portis yd away from going to overtime VS Washington instead of the win, they let them get to the one yd line. So again, I like the Giants, but they are NOT the powerhpuse "D" they once were.

As a MIN defense owner Ive gone back in forth in my head over the following defenses for this week (all with tasty matchups):

NYG vs NYJ (but they dont allow many sacks)

TEN vs ATL (but ATL has improved the last 2 weeks)

IND vs TB (inexperienced LT, no Caddy, but no Sanders?)

ARI vs STL (STL in shambles right now)

I honestly have no clue who to pick. Right now I picked up IND but Im thinking about ARI as well.

I was looking at them already and hearing others agreeing is enough to convince me to pick them up.
This looks like a good matchup too, but I will not be going forward with this. Remember the groupthink that was going on in week 2. Everyone ran...not walked...but ran to the WW to pick up the bengals defense. I was one of them, and 51 points later, my defense got me -6 and I was looking at a 0-2 week. Be careful.

Thanks for the heads up MOP, I saw this post earlier in the week and switched out SEA with AZ and ended up with an extra 10 pts over SEA.

Good call vs STL.

Ferrotte had 3 TD's but he also had 3 INT's and was sacked 2x.
