OK, this was supposed to be a poll but I guess I couldn't figure out how to do it. But the WR's on the poll were gonna be:ColstonBerrianCotcheryFurryJenningsotherSorry about that. There have been some pretty suprising performances by some young WR's so far this year. Who would you say has made the biggest suprise?
For starters, he is easily Brees #1 option. This gives him a headstart. He plays "big". He uses his body to shield the defender. He is fast enough. I look at him like a faster Keyshawn Johnson. Of these 3, I think he finishes the year stronger barring injury.Berrian plays in the frigid Windy city. Passing sure to drop when cold weather arrives.Cotchery looks good too, but he is still the #2 option there.Colston plays in a dome, is the #1 option, and is just better than the other 2 imho.I have yet to see Colston play, but looking at his raw numbers, he looks like a gem for sure. Can anyone give me their brief opinions on Colston as far as how he looks in game, his potential, etc? Would be greatly appreciated.
one word... man-childI have yet to see Colston play, but looking at his raw numbers, he looks like a gem for sure. Can anyone give me their brief opinions on Colston as far as how he looks in game, his potential, etc? Would be greatly appreciated.
But don't forget his playoff schedule...Week 14 - @ St. Louis - DOMEWeek 15 - Tampa BayWeek 16 - @ Detroit - DOMEAs with any 'long threat' it's feast or famine, but I like the odds in weeks 14 and 16.Berrian plays in the frigid Windy city. Passing sure to drop when cold weather arrives.
I agree with Colston. Who would've thought a 6th/7th round pick from Hofstra would just be eating up the league in his rookie year. Greg Jennings is doing really well too.Has to be Colston. The guy's a rookie from Hofstra and he's a top WR in the league right now.
That's exactly how I see Colston, as a young Keyshawn. Strong, physical, seems willing to work in the middle. It also seems like he benefits quite a bit from the attention paid to R.Bush, as it creates space in the intermediate areas for Colston to work.He is in at least some of the time in 1wr sets in the redzone. They threw to him once on a slant on Monday night (I think he got a few yards but was close to breaking the tackle and walking in). He also was targetted on a fade in the endzone at least once against Carolina. For starters, he is easily Brees #1 option. This gives him a headstart. He plays "big". Hey. Bud. Lehigh is about twenty-five minutes from my house. Are you from the area? Also, I agree with the "beast" part. He looks like David Boston when Bostoin used to be good. Huge and fast.i'm not quite as surprised as most with Colston. i went to school at Lehigh, so i keep up on the 1AA college scene. then when NO let Stallworth go, i knew it was his time to step up. i picked him up right after the Stallworth trade in all my leagues, thinking he'd be a solid WR2 on a team that would be playing from behind all season. what i AM surprised with is how he's exploded into a solid WR1 on a probable playoff contender.long answer to a short question: Colston is a beast. all other WRs mentioned in this thread are 2 steps behind.got to think Furrey's the biggest surprise, though. as good as Roy out there, at least to this point.
I already tried doing that and I didn't do it right. Does anyone else wanna give it a shot?Ok lets see a poll on the these guys, for whom will have better numbers here on out. This should be interesting.Poll candidates:Reggie WilliamsColstenG.Jennings J.CotcheryM.FurreyB.Berrian
