Late in Jays 15-9 loss at Marble Falls, one defensive back ran from 7 yards away into the back of an official watching a run play unfold 9 yards in front of him.

After the referees fell to the turf after the first hit, another player standing to the right of the referee and several yards away led with his helmet and dove into the official.

Both players were ejected. Northside ISD athletic director Stan Laing said the video was very disturbing. Laing said the district is investigating the sequence of events leading up to the pla, and the University Interscholastic League is aware of what happened.

The question of what instigated that is what were trying to figure out, Laing said.

If they were trying to send a message wouldn't the second hit be required? I have ALWAYS been coached that the first hit will go unnoticed by a ref, the second hit gets their attention.

Pretty gross story and seeing as how the players were representing the school I think both players need to be expelled. I never thought social media outrage was good for anything but hopefully this school will feel national pressure to do the right thing here. Plenty of other places for these two creeps to scratch out a GED. With decision making skills like this something tells me neither gets held out of Harvard due to this incident.

My old man would have kicked the crap out of me for a bs move like that. I remember getting the belt for kicking a kid we were playing kickball with. I was about 9 and I was upset that he kicked a home run, so I ran over and drop kicked him before he made it home. Pops saw that from in the house and came outside and drug me in by my ear. Told me "Boy! We don't kick people!"

He didn't really beat me or anything. Couple whacks with the belt that made more noise than anything. But I knew where he stood on sportsmanship.
