My daughter has been doing for years. First for money. Then for movie tickets from OneBlood's Big Red Bus, which is almost like doing it for free. She's vegan and the less accurate rapid test for Iron has stopped the donation process sometimes. With the finger ##### iron levels were always normal.

Since they take the blood out, process out the plasma, and put it back in, they use a bigger needle than just giving blood.
I don't mind  getting stuck, had blood drawn today actually.  But my memory of that plasma needle says it was as big as a dang straw!

I feel ya. Im not afraid of needles but not really a fan. I'd also heard some horror stories in the past of folks donating plasma and having issues after so it's just not for me. That said, if someone doesn't mind needles, and trusts the place they're going to not #### them up... it's enough money to make it worth a look.

Yep they gave me a stress ball to squeeze.  The nurse told me to tell them to use a different vein next time that she thinks will be better. And I just didn’t drink enough water.

At the end of the day it’s still giving to a good cause. A video they had me watch said it takes 10 plasma donations to make 1 round of medicine for someone in need. Can feel good about that at least.
