Power Monster
The Midnight Stalker
I am keeping him in there. With the sudden injury to White he will get a lot of targets.
Thinking about doing the same.Benching him for (gulp) Chris Perry
Did the same, also benched Westbrook.Thinking about doing the same.Benching him for (gulp) Chris Perry![]()
It's a percentages thang. This week I need to make the conservative call.(Scoring system matters here - we use 15 yrds per point, so it takes 90 yrds to reach the equivalent of a TD)I'm not going to pretend to know how it'll shake down, but I think that while Johnson has a better chance of having an ubergame over Perry,it's still a pretty low percentage chance.Alternatively, I think Perry has a better chance of having a decent game and less chance of throwing up a 'meh'(this is for THIS week only, against MIN and CLE respectively)Perry's been putting up decent fantasy points against tough Ds (vs. TEN - 10 FPs, @ NYG - 11 FPs).Going against CLE (gave up 3 rushing TDs to both DAL & BAL)Getting > 80% of the carries?I like his chances.Johnson has thrown up a couple of meh games against not so stellar Ds (@ CIN - 7 FPs, vs. HOU - 4 FPs).Not getting the goal-line looks is costly in my league. Also gotta consider the time share.Bottom line, I don't want to play the higher pay-off long shot this week.I'm going conservative.these are tougher calls. do remember that ADP broke the record vs a pretty good defense in SD last year.Earnest Graham vs. GB& Chris Perry vs. CLE
If you're deciding between those two, I think MJD would be the easy call..CJ3 or MJD, CJ3 or MJD? Anyone? Both sides are making compelling arguments here.
That's the direction I'm going. MJD and Bush, leaving Johnson on the bench. Even considering Sanders was out last week, Del Rio lived up to his word in getting MJD more touches and Houston is a tasty target. Minnesota is stout against the run and even if Whale's out, all you can do is GUESS/HOPE that Johnson will have success on the outside. That's a little wishful thinking because they do have mobile LB's.If you are facing an opponent where you NEED a huge day from that position, I'm guessing Johnson has a greater upside if he can break out a couple big runs - since he'll be on the field more if White is out/limited. But his floor is much lower, toIf you're deciding between those two, I think MJD would be the easy call..CJ3 or MJD, CJ3 or MJD? Anyone? Both sides are making compelling arguments here.
This.My gut tells me that the tough inside run D of Minny benefits CJ in the sense that he will gt more carries than normal, as LW will not be able to run up the middle. The way to beat Minny's D is on the outside.I was leaning CJ anyway, but this is what convinced me.The Titans will not be able to run up the middle, thus severely limiting White, but CJ3 should be able to break it outside a couple times.
Portis gets locked down Sunday in big D.Portis @ DAL
While I absolutely HATE sitting CJ3 any given weekend, I'm benching him this week in favor of Portis @ DAL (along w/Lynch). I played CJ3 2 weeks ago in place of Lynch and was duly rewarded (he scored a couple of more points than Lynch did). I'm very high on CJ3 and plan to play the matchups the remainder of the season with these 3 RB's. However, the matchups this week tell me to bench the kid. We'll see...
Yeah....not super confident in Portis either - espcecially if Dallas gets up big. Might switch back to CJ just before gametime. At the end of the day they'll probably be very close in production - perhaps 80 total yrds and a touchdown. This one's probably a coin flip.Portis gets locked down Sunday in big D.Portis @ DAL
Im doing the sameBenching him for (gulp) Chris Perry
Gotta bump this threadWhite is the one to bench. If they have no room to run, they are going to have to pass to get their yardage, and Johnson will be involved in that aspect for sure. Bench CJ3 at your peril.Starting a RB against a defense that is allowing 70.3 yards rushing per game will not win you championships. Trust me CJ is in for a long day.If you bench Johnson at home against the Vikes, you will regret it. Chris Johnson is the type of guy that just needs one play, one missed tackle, one missed defensive assignment and he's gone. He is exactly the type of guy you DON'T bench agains a stout run DEF. You bench the plodding workhorses against stout run defenses NOT the speedster homerun hitters. Start him and don't think twice. I mean come on, you would really start Selvin Young who is a part of a 3 headed RBBC over Johnson? You're crazy. Starting mediocre players will not win championships - trust me here fellas.
I am not benching Chris Johnson for anyone.
Yep, I left Bryant in the flex.I am not benching Chris Johnson for anyone.A lot of you guys got owned for doubting
good points.CJ comes up bigger in the games where he is playing a tougher D. All of his TD were against Jax and Minn D. He only got yardage vs. Cincy and Houston. He also seemed to play a much bigger role earlier in the Jax and Minn games than the other two. It looks like Fisher realizes he has to use him more v the better D's because of his speed. I am thinking the trend continues next week against another tough D (Baltimore) -- he gets the majority of carries and finds the endzone again. It's the "easy" D games that actually worry me because Fisher may rely more on Lendale in those games and minimize CJ's role. At least that's how it appears from the first four games.
Thanks, I was going to bump this. Now where's my thank yous from everyone?Gotta bump this threadWhite is the one to bench.
