I am benching Chris Johnson for ____? (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to decide between J. Stewart, Johnson, and Young.

I'm starting to lean towards Johnson, due to the homefield.

It's either CJ, McFadden, or LJ for me. I am not that high on any of them this week. White is now questionable with a shoulder injury. If he doesn't go, I will start CJ.

I'm going to go accept a trade offer on C.Perry, so that I can put Johnson back in my lineup... along side M'hall & Peterson.

Earnest Graham vs. GB& Chris Perry vs. CLE
these are tougher calls. do remember that ADP broke the record vs a pretty good defense in SD last year.
It's a percentages thang. This week I need to make the conservative call.(Scoring system matters here - we use 15 yrds per point, so it takes 90 yrds to reach the equivalent of a TD)I'm not going to pretend to know how it'll shake down, but I think that while Johnson has a better chance of having an ubergame over Perry,it's still a pretty low percentage chance.Alternatively, I think Perry has a better chance of having a decent game and less chance of throwing up a 'meh'(this is for THIS week only, against MIN and CLE respectively)Perry's been putting up decent fantasy points against tough Ds (vs. TEN - 10 FPs, @ NYG - 11 FPs).Going against CLE (gave up 3 rushing TDs to both DAL & BAL)Getting > 80% of the carries?I like his chances.Johnson has thrown up a couple of meh games against not so stellar Ds (@ CIN - 7 FPs, vs. HOU - 4 FPs).Not getting the goal-line looks is costly in my league. Also gotta consider the time share.Bottom line, I don't want to play the higher pay-off long shot this week.I'm going conservative.

Starting Flash & LJ over Edge .......no flex position. It's purely a gut call at this point.

CJ3 or MJD, CJ3 or MJD? Anyone? Both sides are making compelling arguments here.
If you're deciding between those two, I think MJD would be the easy call..
That's the direction I'm going. MJD and Bush, leaving Johnson on the bench. Even considering Sanders was out last week, Del Rio lived up to his word in getting MJD more touches and Houston is a tasty target. Minnesota is stout against the run and even if Whale's out, all you can do is GUESS/HOPE that Johnson will have success on the outside. That's a little wishful thinking because they do have mobile LB's.If you are facing an opponent where you NEED a huge day from that position, I'm guessing Johnson has a greater upside if he can break out a couple big runs - since he'll be on the field more if White is out/limited. But his floor is much lower, too.Obviously, there are no guarantees - this is a game of probabilities...so all things considered, I believe MJD has a greater probability of putting up a bigger day than Johnson.

While I absolutely HATE sitting CJ3 any given weekend, I'm benching him this week in favor of Portis @ DAL (along w/Lynch). I played CJ3 2 weeks ago in place of Lynch and was duly rewarded (he scored a couple of more points than Lynch did). I'm very high on CJ3 and plan to play the matchups the remainder of the season with these 3 RB's. However, the matchups this week tell me to bench the kid. We'll see...

The Titans will not be able to run up the middle, thus severely limiting White, but CJ3 should be able to break it outside a couple times.
This.My gut tells me that the tough inside run D of Minny benefits CJ in the sense that he will gt more carries than normal, as LW will not be able to run up the middle. The way to beat Minny's D is on the outside.I was leaning CJ anyway, but this is what convinced me.

Chris Johnson didn't exactly explode against Houston.

Houston D < Minnesota D.

Temper your expectations accordingly.

Right now I have LarryJohnson in for CJ. But I am torn... I may play CJ over LJ...

Didn't I read somewhere on this board that Fisher's plan was to use Lendale more against small speedier defenses and CJ against bigger slower D's?? Wouldn't we see more of CJ this week anyways? If so, with Whites's shoulder factoring in aswell ...could we see CJ featured possibly?

I am also reminded of last year when nobody had AP in against SD ...thinking we could see something similar here.

I am going with S Young over CJ. Tough call, but against KC I see S Young having more upside potential against a horrid squad and a lock for 10 pts. CJ could bust one off, but against Minny, it could easily be a single digit pt day. I am actually doing my best to trade Young so I am not left with these GM blunders.

Portis @ DAL
Portis gets locked down Sunday in big D.
Yeah....not super confident in Portis either - espcecially if Dallas gets up big. Might switch back to CJ just before gametime. At the end of the day they'll probably be very close in production - perhaps 80 total yrds and a touchdown. This one's probably a coin flip.

I am putting him on the bench to start LJ. I'm not that excited about it. Denver has a bad defense and I am hoping Huard can move the team a little and position LJ for a couple goalline shots. It's hard enough for 1 rb to be productive against Minnesota and CJ and White shares carries pretty evenly. I will say the advantage of CJ is that on any busted tackle or missed assignment he can take it to the house, or at least gain a quick 50. I don't see White doing much unless he gets a couple cracks from the 3 yard line.

Larry Johnson, Chris Johnson, or Johnathan Stewart are my choices. It's a flex spot, so I guess I could throw Cotchery in there, too, but I really like to go 3 RBs (Lynch and Barber are 1 & 2).

I had CJ in there at the beginning of the week. Pulled him and put in LJ. Still not sure what I am going to do come 12:59 pm Sunday.

I have DeAngelo Williams in over CJ at this point. I've bought into the hype the last two weeks only to be disappointed.

He's had two easy matchups and hasn't cut the mustard IMO.

If you bench Johnson at home against the Vikes, you will regret it. Chris Johnson is the type of guy that just needs one play, one missed tackle, one missed defensive assignment and he's gone. He is exactly the type of guy you DON'T bench agains a stout run DEF. You bench the plodding workhorses against stout run defenses NOT the speedster homerun hitters. Start him and don't think twice. I mean come on, you would really start Selvin Young who is a part of a 3 headed RBBC over Johnson? You're crazy. Starting mediocre players will not win championships - trust me here fellas.
Starting a RB against a defense that is allowing 70.3 yards rushing per game will not win you championships. Trust me CJ is in for a long day.
White is the one to bench. If they have no room to run, they are going to have to pass to get their yardage, and Johnson will be involved in that aspect for sure. Bench CJ3 at your peril.
Gotta bump this thread

never benching CJ again, grant suked again today and wasted a roster space for me over CJ. TITANS 4-0!!!

I almost benched him for Selvin Young, thinking the Broncos would win easy, but this thread, in part, changed my mind.

Whew.

I benched him over Jamal Lewis and Lynch, didn't lose much with Lewis, we'll see with Lynch. I won't be benching him again I don't think. Didn't see the game, how did he look?

Start your studs. Trust me, it's crazy enough to work.

Vikings have a nice D. But they've given up plenty of TDs.

CJ comes up bigger in the games where he is playing a tougher D. All of his TD were against Jax and Minn D. He only got yardage vs. Cincy and Houston. He also seemed to play a much bigger role earlier in the Jax and Minn games than the other two. It looks like Fisher realizes he has to use him more v the better D's because of his speed. I am thinking the trend continues next week against another tough D (Baltimore) -- he gets the majority of carries and finds the endzone again. It's the "easy" D games that actually worry me because Fisher may rely more on Lendale in those games and minimize CJ's role. At least that's how it appears from the first four games.

good points.

For me, it was less about doubting CJ than it was thinking the MIN D was that good. Plus, I figured Bryant would have another solid week in a PPR league with Galloway still out.

Serves me right for having faith in Bryant.
