I am starting ______ over Nicks (1 Viewer)

So Nicks is listed as doubtful.

Question is to gamble and keep him as active until game-time or simply play it safe and start another rostered WR?

If you scooped up Barden, you have the luxury of waiting and you can simply slide him into your starting line0up in lieu of Nicks

OR

maybe you can acquire another Giant WR or a Philly WR or even a DAL or CHI and slide him in for Monday night? That said, WR options possibly available from Phil, Dal or CHi are not that appealing.

If you don't have Barden like myself, you don't have the luxury.

For those of us that play it safe (like I probably will) and bench Nicks, he will probably play and go for 10, 100 and a TD (LOL)

Looks like I playing it safe and rolling with JEROME SIMPSON. I hope some of the hype is warranted!

In a WR/TE combined league I was going with Tony Gonzalez over Nicks. However, I completed a trade yesterday to get Greg Jennings so he is now an option too. Torn there.........

I was having a tough time debating which two to start between Nicks, Stevie Johnson, Brandon Marshall, and Demarco Murray at my WR2 and Flex spots. I did have Nicks locked in as my WR2, but after the injury I'm definitely starting Stevie Johnson at WR2 and will choose between Murray or Marshall on Monday night, depending on how things are going in my game.

Overcoming this Nicks injury isn't too bad now, but when these bye weeks start hitting (I know this is a bye week, but it's not affecting teams as much yet), it's going to be hard.

Guess I will be going Amendola over Nicks NO PPR

Nate Washington is another option I have I suppose

I just picked up Hixon and I'm going to start him due to injuries and bye week issues. If there is any truth to the story posted earlier today that Hixon is regaining the #3 spot I feel confident that Hixon will get enough targets to be productive even if Barden eats into his targets, assuming Nicks in fact does not play.

Hopefully he gets healthy for a few weeks so I can unload his fragile ###. I was so excited on acquiring him in a dynasty league a couple of years ago...now it's just really frustrating. Guess I'm going with Barden.

Well crap... In a start 2 WR league (w/ 2 RB/TE/WR Flex spots), I'll be using Steve Smith (Carolina) as my WR2 (use @ Flex when Nicks plays) & will roll the dice w/ Willis McGahee @ Flex w/ his bum ribs.

I'm going with Lloyd and Decker in my 2 WR spots..

in the flex, I'm actually going with Ben Tate over Nicks.

edit: I also considered Tampa Mike, if he's going to have a good game this year, it'll be this week.

Luckily picked up Barden yesterday, but exploring more options.

Might pick up Rudolph and plug him , I'm already using LaFell for a Wayne bye.

Seriously, these kind of threads need to be moved to AC forum.
Why? Noone responds or helps anyone else with their decisions... just a bunch of people talking to themselves.
This is not a WDIS thread. It's just conversation about who people are starting in lieu of Hakeem Nicks and/or what strategy they might employ given it's a Sunday night game. Having said that, I assume most responders are Nicks owners so why wouldn't we solicit feedback from one another on who to start and why? So ********, do you won Hakeem Nicks? and if not, why stick your two cents in?

Sat Torrey Smith for him before the doubtful tag came about.

Now, I assume I'll be playing Alshon freakin' Jeffrey in Nicks' place.

They have not faced an offense yet this year that can attack them with multiple weapons that are as talented as NY. They can take away a receiver but not sure they can take away Cruz,Bennett and a 2nd WR in that offense.

thanks,i grabbed Barden yesterday just in case Hicks foot/knee is a season long issue...wouldnt want to waste a roster spot if the Eagles are as good as advertised

My current plan is similar, except Wes Welker at WR2 and Bill McGahee at the 2nd flex spot.

First of all Nicks is doubtful so he's not playing. Now you're basically asking "who should i play instead of Nicks"... sounds like a WDIS question to me.

Yeah I have both hankerson and Simpson as cover as well. Like them both this week but having trouble deciding which to go with.

can i play barden or is the situation too murky?
Hes outplayed Hixon and I think he earned the job. That being said Coughlin still values trust over production. I think we'll see Barden.
The Giants announced Friday that Nicks' status for Week 4 is doubtful after his knee swelled up following Thursday's practice. Either Barden or Hixon is going to start at split end against the Eagles, squaring off with Asomugha.(sounds like a harder task than vs the panthers D)
