I benching Big Ben and his injured thumb for? (1 Viewer)

I'm concerned about Roethlisberger and I am going to put Tebow in my lineup. Even though this is a league where we get 6 points for passing TDs making Tebow a less sexy play. Anyone else worried about his accuracy and the possibility they try to run more if they get the lead due to this injury and who are you starting instead?

I would think he will be in the shotgun more to protect his finger from taking snaps under center. This would probably lead to more pass attempts, IMO. I don't thInk he is a bad play this week.

I was debating Ben and Tebow too. Think I'm going to have to check in on the Audible and see if Dr. Bremel addresses Ben's thumb.

I don't think KC is a good matchup. The Steelers are historically notorious for taking the air out of the ball when they have a lead. It's likely going to be an ###-kicking with KC on a short week and Pitt coming off a bye. I don't see KC doing anything on offense and Ben throwing < 5 passes in the second half.

Conversely, SD will likely score some points at home vs the Broncos forcing them to open the offense a little earlier than 5 minutes to go in the game. I agree that Tebow is due for a turd when the Broncs run 50 times and pass 8, but I don't see that happening this game. I think he's good for his average or better this week.

I have this very decision and I'm goin' Tebow.

Matt Ryan against MIN - will be playing matchups a bit down the stretch, and I'd like to see how his thumb goes anyway.

KFFL) Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday, Nov. 22, QB Ben Roethlisberger (thumb) will start in Week 12 and be effective despite playing with a fractured right thumb. "Those of us who know Ben understand that he's going to show and show for his teammates," Tomlin said. "There's a pain tolerance issue. There's a comfortability issue. All of those things will be sorted out throughout the course of the week. To be honest with you, I'm not overly concerned about (Roethlisberger's) ability to be effective in the midst of this."

Maybe historically they run the ball more when they have the lead, but this year we have been passing alot on 2nd/3rd downs with a lead. Moreso than I've seen in quite some time; as they do the Mike Wallace/Antonio Brown quick screen pass which is essentially a running play. Bit them in the behind a few times this year which frustrated completely. In game vs. Baltimore with a lead and just over 2 min. left, Ben tried to throw a screen pass to Redman on 2nd down and he dropped it and it killed the clock. Easily cost us 30-40 seconds, or the Ravens to use their last TO.Ravens ended up winning the game with 10 sec. remaining in the game.

I'm debating between Matt Ryan and Big Ben. Right now I have Ryan in my line up. I'm not concerned with Ben's ability to play, I'm concerened with PIT getting too big of a lead and then just eating up the clock.

And your not concerned with atl killing min and running the ball a ton with turner? That seems more likely to me. Mendanhall has been garbage most of the year and rarely touches it 20 times. Turner going to get it 20 plus for sure...

Maybe I'm wrong, but it definitely seems like every time Big Ben is playing hurt, he has a monster game.

I decided to go with Big Ben over Tebow. Fortunately while both were poor to very mediocre I was able to win quite handily with the lackluster performance. I actually don't think Big Bens performance was due to his thumb injury, just a fired up KC defense at home.

Agree. Kc def looked great. Ben made some great throws and a couple questionable ones. He def could have scored more if not for the turnovers. That morris fumble took away a chance and the int was a headscratcher. But that was a mental mistake. His thumb was really a non issue
