I can't believe I drafted... (1 Viewer)

Tatum Bell - I said that I was going to stay away from the Denver RBs this year but when he fell to me as a #4 RB I couldn't really pass him up.

LOL, I came in to join the Vick club, too!

Kit, I think this thread has a different twist than the other. More about gut and personal preference than projections and drafting instincts.

Yep.He kept falling...and falling...and falling...and, well, I finally took him. You could do much worse at RB4 than T. Bell.

Dan Morgan....I swore to myself after 4 years of him getting hurt in the 1st quarter I'd never take him again. I hate myself.

Ending up taking TO again this week end. Grab him in the 3rd round so at least I got value out of him.

Portis. I had the 1st pick overall and took Alexander. I couldn't believe Portis was still there at 2.12!

I guess the injury and the trade for Duckett scared a lot of people away (plus in our league QBs go early because we give 6 pts passing TDs and you can start a 2nd QB as flex).

One of my keepers from last year was Ronnie Brown so I have him, Alexander and Portis (and I picked up Duckett late).

Reggie Bush - didn' thave him on my radar but as my RB#3 in a keeper league I couldn't resist the upside

Darrell Jackson - See above

Travis Henry - I was sucked in by the he may start crap

Stephen Davis - Never thought he would be on my team - but for a #5 RB maybe he is good for some TDs

Chad Pennington - :bag:

Brad Johnson - Had to grab another backup QB when I came to my sense that Penny sucks!

Vick and Reggie Bush, but at least I'll get to see their highlights every week.

TO + Randy Moss. They drive you crazy, but both were bargains. $23 and $29, respectively, in an 8 team, start 3 WR auction league!

Same here. I have Brown, Westbrook and Taylor (start 2). When he was still there I couldn't pass him up.

Kevin Jones

and

Reuben Droughns... he fell to me in the 6th round which just represented too much potential value as a RB#3...

I still think they guy and his team blows and I'm sure it won't be worth it.

Like many, my "i would never" guys are WRs. I was disappointed in Moss last year, but he kept dropping and dropping. I have him on two teams. I could be sitting in the penthouse or outhouse because of Moss this year. I feel he could have a monster year.

Another WR that many around here love more than me ... Bryant. I have him as a WR3 in a start 2 WR (no flex) league. Byant lasted a LONG time in both drafts. Bryant was over 40th WR to be drafted in both drafts.

Droughns in BOTH leagues!

Vick - Great value in a high performance league...I couldn't pass.

Wali Lundy - Could be valuable, but I passed on Todd Heap to draft him!

Kurt Warner- Sure, he'll likely do just fine....for the 6 games he probably plays. :( He was far to valuable where I was able to land him, though, so I held my breath and took the plunge. Sort of like when you have to drink lousy tasting medicine.

Donovan Mcnabb in round 4 of a twelve team keeper. after Ronnie, Holt and W.Dunn. I just dont love Donovan but know he can do some things when his game is on.

Aaron Brooks - i would never take him at the ADP he had been going at the last few years, but now he is a reasonable QB2.

In a rookie draft, I ended up with DeAngelio Williams (at 1.04) and Lendale White (@ 1.09) - never thought White would fall out of the top 4.

Donald Driver over Antonio Gates. In a start 3 WR league (TE required), Gates and Driver fell to 4.08. I felt like I needed an extremely consistent WR2 and if I had passed on Driver at that point, I would've been stuck with a Joe Horn as my WR2. Watson in the 7th was a nice consolation prize though..

Vick.

But only because I got him for $4 in our $100 cap league. And he's always been top 10 in our scoring system.

In essence, it's like I'll be starting 3 RB's instead of 1qb and 2rb's.

Stephan Davis in the 13th round for $1.00 Dynasty Keeper League, 12 owners.

The rookie punter from New England Gastro something or other with 16th round pick Dynasty Keeper League 12 owners

For me, it was "Michael Vick - i would never take him at the ADP he had been going at the last few years, but now he is a reasonable QB2." (Got Vick at 8.06 after getting Brady at 5.03.)

Donald Driver

I traditionally refuse to draft any GreenBay player (havent done so in 5 years of playing) but I couldnt resist him in the 8th rnd(10 team) of our draft. (we are all hardcore s.side Chicagoans - so the anti-GB thing is universal.

note: since i broke the seal - i picked up Favre (even though he swallows) shortly thereafter.

Barlow as my RB #5 (start 2RB and a Flex). I had him on my team last year, so why I would do this again is beyond me.

Terrell Owens and Deion Branch

I got TO as the eleventh wr taken in our draft, but he was the best on the board when it came to me. I got Branch in the 18th round and figured if he plays it is a HUGE pickup. If he doesn't play, so what because I drafted him as my 5th WR and we only start 3.

Forgot to add -

Kevin Jones as RB2 (I was pick 11 and had drafted Tiki Barber at 1.11 and got K Jones at 2.02...passing on McGahee, Parker and Bush because I convinced myself that this was KJ's big year). So now I am stuck with Barber, K Jones and D Rhodes as my backfield for the year. I just hope Rhodes remains starter until Barber and Jones are past their bye weeks.

Bubba Franks as my backup TE in a very, very late round. My general rule is to avoid Packers and Cowboys (homer bias) but he was the best of the bunch left.

I was going to say, at that stage there's probably not much left over to choose as your backup TEI can't believe I drafted Reggie Bush in the 2nd round! Got caught up in the hype. I can't believe I drafted Fred Taylor on the 6th round of my other draft.
