I enjoy Joe Buck in the booth (1 Viewer)

Tim McCarver is still f'n horrible, but I think Joe actually does a good job. I really can't stand his little holier-than-thou appearance on camera, but if you just consider his commentary off-camera, I'm good with it.

Feel free to rip me a new one for this.

Actually, we have some common ground. :popcorn:Never understood the Joe Buck hate. Yeah, he's not his dad; who the heck is?

Buck paces the game well. Not sure why the hate, either.

I think it takes Buck a little while to catch up to information local fans are used to with their local announcers who are with the team 24/7....

I forget exact comments but, Buck took heat and was all over the place at the start of the playoffs....

I like the fact that he isn't an anti-numbers announcer like Joe Morgan and other old-timers.

I hate the monotone delivery. I don't want to hear someone like that soccer tool who yells GOAL! for half an hour, but a little enjoyment of the moment wouldn't kill the guy.

That is my biggest beef with his announcing. He calls a game-winning hit in the bottom of the 9th with the same enthusiasm that he calls a groundout in the top of the 1st.

His monotone is horrible and when he gets fixated on something he harps on it forever. Like last night I was pretty sure he wanted to have secs with Darren Oliver the way he was praising him endlessly for the Posada double play.

:goodposting: We're still talking about Darren Oliver here, folks.

He's alright, but he handles big moments poorly. Hes best off staying away from football and playoff baseball imo.

Regular season baseball is his niche.

I kind of like his reserved delivery. I dunno, I figure most play by play guys piss people off in one way or another, but I have a difficult time pinpointing what's so aggravating about him. I'd rather have someone underdo it than overdo it.

Say! I enjoy Joe Buck calling a game!

I do! I like him, Sam-I-am!

And I listen in a boat.

And I would listen with a goat…

And I will listen in the rain.

And in the dark. And on a train.

And in a car. And in a tree.

He is so good, so good, you see!

So I will listen in a box.

And I will listen to him on Fox.

And I will listen in a house.

And I will listen with a mouse.

And I will listen here and there.

Say! I will listen ANYWHERE!

Is your favorite website sucking****.com?

I hate him less than I did about two years ago. I just don't give a #### about his opinion and he has always included it in his broadcasts, and its often over-the-top.

Gus Johnson >>>>>> Joe BuckThough if we're limiting this discussion to baseball only the above is void. His dead-pan delivery is appropriate for baseball in general, but for the World Series it's weak.

Poor Joe. Not only did he have to miss the Favre SuckFest in Lambeau (although I don't ever think Joe has gotten over Favre letting him down and throwing that pick to Corey Webster.) , but then he had to watch the Yanks hold off the Phils.

Oh and Ken Rosenthal sounds like Christopher Walken's nerd brother when he speaks.
