What I don't understand is how you drove the car off the lot when it wasn't in good condition? And why did you wait so long to get the issue resolved? It sounds like you waited way too long to do anything about something that was initially your fault in the first place.
This is a good point. Them detailing soon after the sale was offered would be an easy detail for them as it was new. Now detailing a car months later is going to take more time.I don't think he was offer was 1 free detail to use when ever you see fit.
I did try to get the detail done right away. He didn't return calls. The only reason I "waited" was because he wouldn't return my calls or emails.
Missed that. Go raise some hell !! I've done it for less.

Serious answer:

Create a detailed email with a timeline of events and what happened. Don't frame it angrily, just list the facts. Include the quotes from the salesmen and the parts department. Send it to the salesman, the general manager, and the owner if you can find his email address.

In the email inform them that you have sent a copy of this email to Ford Motor Company: Use this page to send them an email.

Also let them know that you well be posting your negative experience as well as direct quotes from dealership employees on DealerRater.com, CarDealerCheck.com, Cars.com, AutoTrader.com, and Edmunds.com

How do you deal with something which is an actual problem?
Your car had dirty windows and needed vacuuming. You could have taken care of this in the amount of time you posted about it.
This is the equivalent to saying, "Um, excuse me waiter. There's a piece of crap in my soup." And then the waiter saying, "Why didn't you just take it out? In the time it took for you to get my attention and me to come over, you could have removed it."

And, honestly, I did clean it. It's not like I've been driving around with a dirty car for a year. I took my time and cleaned it right. But that was my time wasted. They now owe me a free cleaning for the time I wasted. Pretty simple.
Actually, it is the exact equivalent of getting a beautiful new car and being upset because the windows are dirty. Meanwhile there are people out there with kids dying of cancer. Your problem is not a real problem. I understand people get upset when their expectations are not met, but take a step back and see how silly you are being. This is not worth wasting 10 minutes on.

You're kidding right? Have you always been a doormat? Most of us aren't.

I think he was upset at you because a severe storm forecast was incorrect.
I wasn't wrong. The SPC was wrong. I wasn't paying too much attention because they hadn't given it thought. You know what? Check your inbox. Angry PM sent. :hot:

Tweet picture of email with #ford #poorservice or something like that . I guarantee you will get a quick response. They have people who's sole job is to look for stuff like this. They take social media seriously and you'll get it resolved.

How long should I expect a reply to the email to take? I assume that they want to talk with the sales guy before replying.

Just print the emails and go to the store. They will take care of it between the GSM or the GM.

This is over the top for something that should be able to be resolved locally. It's a little early to go MOP on the bit.

So yesterday, the day started with an email from him that rambled on about how he didn't know what I was talking about and how any fault that came from this was clearly my own. He made sure during that short email to point out three times that I was at fault. Second email was a short email telling me when to bring the car by and saying that he'll be happy to finally be done dealing with me. Third email was him saying how sorry he was for the issue. He stated, at least 10 times how terribly sorry he was for all that had happened and that it was completely his fault. He stated that I should come in in the morning instead of after work because that's when their full time detailer is there and he can do a thorough job, and since I'll need a car, they'll get me a free rental car to use while they clean it.

He ended by saying that he was sincerely sorry for everything that happened over the year and that he wants to do everything possible to make things right.

Can you tell which email came AFTER I sent the email to his bosses?

If you smell a rotting carcass in a few days don't believe your first instinct which will be to use Febreeze or another air freshener. Check behind the glove compartment where the cabin air filter and fan goes. A dead mouse or chipmunk in there is your problem.

I had a problem some what like this with a Mercedes dealership. I actually sent Mercedes corp a complaint on their website thinking nothing word come of it. They not only called me right away, but were on the phone with the dealership with me as I walked them through my complaint. I was amazed by the level of service. Try calling corp about you problem, you may be surprised.
You were amazed by the level of service from a company like Mercedes???

We had a problem where a local dealership "fixed" our squeaky sunroof on our 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited at least 6 times. One time they actually ran screws in too far into the headliner area creating dimples in the roof. They had to fix that. After the last time the "fixed" it and it still squeaked I called Hyundai Corporate. Told them the scenario and that I was very unimpressed with their service at this dealership.

Corporate escalated it and finally set up an appointment at a different dealership to take care of the issue since I told them i was done with the other dealership. This took about a month. By that time we already traded the car in on different one and moved on.

Good luck.

To have them actually join the call with me was way above and beyond, so yes i was impressed.

Congrats on breaking the salesman like a cheap doll. Personally when a dealership pisses me off I stand in their showroom on a Saturday when they are busy, I stop people who are coming in and tell them what happened, loudly. I get a resolution pretty quickly. It's pretty effective.
