Could I ask that Footballguys change their screen background colors to Redskin colors whether it be for a day, week, or the rest of the year. The admin/owners have done this over at CowboysZone, a Dallas Cowboys message board I frequent. I can't tell you how proud I am to be Cowboys fan today and stand beside my Redskin friends in this tough time. Let's show all Football and Fantasy Fans that they are in our thoughts.

Thanks

I dont remember the colors changing into Broncos blue/orange in January. I dont remember the colors changing into Arizona colors after Tillman's death. Are the colors going to change during the Superbowl as well?

maybe YOU forgot to propose it...
I am not making light of the current situation but I see this "request" in a similar manner as the thread that was locked about Joe & Co donating money to Taylor's daughter. Should federal flags fly at half staff tomorrow as well?

Its a simple request. If you have issues with it, HAGW guy or see a counselor.

FBG's can't comply with every request made of them. If YOU would like to do something change your avatar or sig line. Just my 2 cents.

this is more then a fantasy football message board to lots.......soooo, the background changes for a day or whatever cause a fantasy football player was murdered cant be that big a deal...it hopefully wont happen again...if so...im sure a color change for the team involved wont take much of an effort and to the fans of said team it would and could be something they can be proud of...i dont see the big deal...either way...ive enjoyed MOST of the thoughts in the threads concerning 21 the last 2 days...great site...great people....

Not a Skins fan at all, but I think it would be a great gesture. Maybe just the home page. skins colors with a black undertone for mourning. Sorta like google changing their logo for big occasions. It would be a class move by FBG and it's not like it would be an everyday thing in terms of color changes for a player death....

i hardly post so i really have no idea why i keep posting here...but i have a question...why are there folks that care to post the opposite of others during times like this...what does it matter to you...why would it bother you...what makes you click the thread and respond the complete opposite on a matter that doest seem to matter to you...strange...lol either way...what gives i guess is what im asking...give the fans a day or two...why does it bother you so much...please explain

The same can be reversed towards you as well. Why the apparent "need" to change colors to mourn someone who is recently deceased? Has it been done before where the change would be warranted? Like the other poster mentioned, if you would like to do something, the board allows us each to have an avatar and signature... change those to suit the occasion. And, shift key dude.

i still dont get it...get on board or stay out...plenty of threads to be involved with...i just dont have any feelings to post in threads i dont agree with...why do you...and shift it up ur #### if ya wanna...

edit: we cant say butt?

If you want to express your opinion but don't have it in you to hear from people who don't agree with you I suggest you avoid the internet.

Can we have FBG change their background colors everytime another gang member like Taylor gets shot and killed? That would be uber-respectful.

It's a request. Let the people he's requesting respond to it as they see fit. And VandyT? You're a piece of ####.

I think it's reasonable, but it does set a precedent and it's not my website. The thread asking to donate a large whack of money? That one was silly.

wow. i dont post much, but are you guys for real? all the guy did was ask for a little request for a guy that just past away. it doesnt have to be a comparison to every other accident that has happened. comparing this kind of thing is ridiculous. he asked if football guys could change their screen..thats it. This really surprised me that guys from this board would get so uptight over a color change for a day.

I dont care either way, but what good would it really do? Its not like any of his family or friends will see it. And I seriously doubt anyone that frequents this board knew the guy.

Its sad when most anyone dies. But if you dont know the person, stop trying to make it appear as if it has any effect on your life.

Respecting someone else frequently is entirely divorced from the interests of the person showing the respect, rendering the homage paid more significant.

I could envision an onslaught of replies along the lines of, "So, the more I don't care the more my gesture means. How idiotic."

Simply put, the rebuttal to the allegation that respect paid by an uninterested party is hypocritical is likely made by those who show respect to no one, as they don't practice or appreciate the principle.

I am not advocating for or against the request; it could be nice but I also agree that a person could change their avatar, etc.,

I don't know enough about the matter to say whether it "should" be done.

Wow...I had no idea a simple request would cause such a controvery. I am fine if Joe and Co. did nothing, they don't owe me or anyone else anything. I suggested because it made me feel better even if it was for just a second knowing the community (CowboyZone) I frequented showed support. The out pouring of feedback from Redskins fans back has been tremendous. Here is my post over there in a thread thanking the Mods for changing the colors. (CBZ is a reference to myself).

============================================================================

I am late to this thread and I am sure no one will respond to this particular entry, but this entry is for me. So please forgive me while I am selfish for a minute and talk from my heart.

As a fan of the Cowboys it is natural to dislike anything Redskins. I was and am no different in this regard to any other fan to be honest. My dislike of their team does not come from any real world experience. In fact I don't believe I know a single Washington fan in real life. However, as a die hard Cowboy fan you learn quickly and early on that we are not to like them. Sometimes for good reasons.....especially when they beat us.

Today was a really sad day for me, maybe because I also lost my Dad recently. I felt disconnected, distracted, reflective and full of sorrow. I feel for the fans and most for his family and daughter left behind.

OK...CBZ....make a point you are rambling. I have come to realize in my reflections today that my dislike for Washingon is nothing more than sibling rivalry. They piss me off a lot but ultimately I have respect for them and always will. Sean Taylor was a young, strong, and talented man who died way too young and for no good reason.

I am so proud to be a Cowboy fan today with how we have reacted to the loss. Today I stand beside my Brothers the Washington Redskins, and for that it gives me some comfort and I hope for them too. They get my love, empathy, understanding, good thoughts and my hope for better days ahead.

Thank you guys for flying their colors here at the Zone, it never looked so beautiful. RIP Sean.

ps...Your hit on Moorman is one of my favorite plays ever!

The tool factor is high today.......

Please stop the arguing over stuff like this.

And bankerguy, thanks for the suggestion but we will not be changing the site for this.
