I played Basketball at the local Sportsplex today. (1 Viewer)

Oh come on
You don't think in a couple months a young guy prone to being physical like Em could triple his vertical?
Unathletic 5'8" white guys do not dunk.

Athletic 5'8" white guys do not dunk.

My bet would be that Em needs a running 2 hand shot with one leg kicking back up in order to attempt a 3 pointer.

He will be the Spud Webb of the local sportsplex before the first bloodroot blooms in the lowcountry.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, because I'm not reading every post, but when I was young I found that wearing ankle weights for long periods of time will increase your vertical.

I visited my local sportsplex this morning and while a 50 yr old man told me I looked 20 yrs older than him, I too have aspirations of dunking on teens.

Was just in the pool with my 4 year old niece and I threw down a SICK tomahawk slam on her. It was Kemplike. Poor kid started crying like a little #####.

And I honestly have had more fun today than in a long time. It's fun to go out there and do something physical. Pretty much you go and you can practice layups, 3-points, free throw, mid-range shots, and if you're feeling ambitious you can try to dunk.

Either way, it feels good to be 23 years old and able to pull off cool layups and fade away shots. There are some people that were doing awesome, dunking and stuff. So I definitely reccomend if you're still abled body, to go to the gym and play basketball. Worse case scenario, you missing 25 - 30 shots in a row and leave, right?

I would really like to be able to dunk in a few months. If I can get footage of me dunking over teenagers, that could possibly be the funniest thing ever.
Try it at 64, plus racquetball. Then hit the weights, I absolutely love LA Fitness for all it provides.

I'm 5 8 and could dunk a tennis ball with a running start. Keep trying em

I think it is very good that you went to your local Sportsplex. Should sportsplex be capitalized? I would think not. I believe you made a mistake with that. You certainly did not make a mistake going to that place to play basketball. You should make it a habit. It will help you stay healthy. You will have some fun times playing the sport of basketball. You may also meet your next boyfriend or girlfriend there. (Not sure if you are gay or not.)

I feel like there is no downside to this for you unless somebody beats you up or steals your wallet in the locker room. There is always a risk. You would, of course, be safer staying home or shooting hoops by yourself in your grandma's backyard (you can nail a milk crate to her garage door if she doesn't already have a hoop of some sort set up), but you should take the risk so that you could get some game action at the sportsplex.

I enjoyed this post.

I went to URI back when Al Skinner was the men's basketball coach, Al played in the pros and would play in pick up games with the student body. He was a major **** on the court, always took over the game whenever his team was losing but rarely dunked. The greatest thing about Al though was seeing him eat chicken wings, to this day I've never seen anyone that could eat wings quite like Al. He would put the whole wing in his mouth and suck off every piece of chicken and cartilage and all that was left was dry bone. Of course, Al had some mad choppers:

Any updates?
I've been back twice since then. One of the times, this 7 - 10 year old black kid stole my ball and made me look like an idiot trying to get it back from him. He was so short and the little ******* was shifty. I made a huge commotion and said some mean things to him.

Most recently though, my squad rolled through and went 3 - 0 on the day. We ran the court.
