I sprained my wrist punching the punching bag machine drunk at the bar (1 Viewer)

I recently hit a new bench max of 155 at the gym (I weigh 140lbs). So I was eager to show up my newly acquired muscles (also, I was drunk). I go to punch the thing, rolling my shoulder and body weight into it, and I completely miss contact with my knuckles and the top of my wrist takes the majority of the blow.

I don't notice it much because I'm drunk at the time. But I wake up in excruciating pain. I can barely ball my right hand into a fist and I struggle to even write my name.

Ouch.

I'm more surprised you didn't hurt your wrist with that bench press. :thumbup:

 
Please hire a camera crew to follow you around. I feel like we are missing out on a great reality show we could sell to Bravo.

 
I did this when I was a dumb kid too. Fast forward 20 years and my wrist still gives me problems and I get a ganglion cist there every now and again because of the scar tissue. So at least you have that to look forward to. :thumbup:

This totally kills my theory not to fight Asian people because they all know karate.
Swear to god that theory is why nobody would mess with me from kindergarden through probably 5th grade. Take a half-Asian kid and put him in public school in a 95% white rural Virginia town in the early 80's, and basically, I HAD to be related to Bruce Lee.

 
I hope this does not impact your schedule to slam dunk. I think you were suppose to be dunking in a couple of months.

 
did the same about 8-9 years ago. wrist is still messed up.

go to the doctor and get it looked at if you don't want long-term issues.
