I think I am skipping the Super Bowl (1 Viewer)

I wasn't really planning to but I think I am. For as long as I can remember I have watched the Super Bowl. My first Super Bowl was 1969. Yep the first game to be called a Super Bowl. You may recall the Jets pulled a little bit of an upset. So I am hooked from there on. Until now. I just don't care who wins. The drama is largely manufactured. The game itself is a backdrop for commercials. And I have already seen all of them. Man Budweiser knows how to go for the emotional response don't they? Anyway I don't care about Katy might be more interested if it was only Kravitz. Nothing about this game really says to me "you need to watch". Now if my local team were in then yeah I'd obviously be glued to the TV and probably for the whole pre-game. But it isn't and I just don't care about the teams that are.

I got some catching up to do on the yoga pants thread anyways. Almost three pages behind.

I'm just going to say that Goodell has managed to take the fun out of this game for me with the stupid football inflation issue, and since it affects the Pats' preparation to me it feels like the competitive balance has been altered, which I hate.

But we have a large family party every year surrounding the SB so I'm in, will eat and drink my tail off as per usual and aggravate people with outrageous comments like, "Go Pats!"

Only watching the actual game.....zero pregame and zero halftime.
This.

Thankfully, I don't do super bowl parties, so I don't have to listen to some nimrod go on about he or she only watches for the commercials. I hate those people.

Well I am staying home this year. If there were a party I'd go but it would be for the party not really the game.

Well guys going to go set up the gaming station in the living room. Bean bag chair, large Pepsi and perhaps something herbal to enhance immersion. If you are watching the game then for you I hope it's a good one. If you are not then I hope whatever you do brings you much joy.

Do you have comcast? X1?

run the game on a tablet using their app while playing or set up a small tv

You can do gaming any day. Watch the bowl.

Eat. Watch the commercials. You don't need to be glued to every single play.

I was wavering. I've been getting caught up on Homeland and was considering powering my way through. But it's the last game of the year and I'll probably watch.

I like every week of the playoffs much better than the SuperBowl. All the hoopla wears me out and the hour halftime totally destroys the flow of the game.

Opposite. Been watching the Pre-Game since 11:00. No dog in this race so I'm slightly pulling for Seattle. These are two great teams. Shame this last week has been overshadowed by deflate-gate. Been on a strict diet and I'm completely off today.

I am in the middle of a season 4 "Psych" marathon. Don't care for either of these teams and if any of the commercials are decent, will watch them on YouTube

Why would you purposely avoid the Super Bowl? I understand if you actually have something to do, but playing video games, watching movies instead? Come on.
